The Eileen Gu drama is pretty hilarious. She might not care everyone in China's turning on her/have thoroughly seen through her as two faced, thinking she's laughing all the way to the bank with the tens of millions she's already raked in with the grift. But it's gonna be interesting what she'll do once it comes to war. She will be among the very first targeted in the US for purges. Home country despises her as a traitor, now backup country has soured on her too. Oops! Let see how much your money is good for then.
The shortsighted and greedy think they're smart but always lose in the end.
Eileen Gu can simply return to China. Most Chinese does not know, they believe that China does not support dual citizenship, however, this is changing.
For example, before 2000, Children born in US are US citizen, no matter what is the status of the parents.
In 200X, Children born in US, or China, with the mother being Chinese national without green card, and the father is US citizen, will be consider Chinese citizen as well. These children will enter and leave China with a travel documents (通行证,旅行证), and use their US passport outside of China, that this situation will last until children reach 18.
In late 201X, even before Eileen Gu reach 18 and the winter Olympic, there are people who continue to get travel documents to use past 18.
In 2022, Beijing in particular, asks these people to apply for their 户口 and their chinese passport, their travel documents will limit them to travel to the host country of their passport. So, if they want to travel to Thailand, they need to goto the US first with their travel documents and then go to Thailand.
In 2024, limitation to travel documents is lifted, so most of these people still maintain US passport and China travel documents.
And so, when Eileen Gu is born, her mom is still China national with no green card, she will be in the same situation.
Trust me, I know this because my kids were in the same situation, and travel documents in 2005 was such a pain, as each individual chinese city has their own policy, it isn't until 2008 when things get refined. 2021 to 2023 was also painful, new policy, no one really understands it, but it is now ok, can get a travel document pretty easy now.
