Caught on camera making out with Marchand (yeah, that guy) at a club, despite unliking his post on IG earlier. Far from the first twofaced thing she's done. Getting roasted all over Chinese SM
Meh, It's her personal choice whose tongue she want in her throat, Her part of bargain with China was a gold medal and she delivered it spectacularly as for loyalty it goes both ways if she was willing to dump US for money she would be also willing to disregard Chinese sentiments for hypergamy, I'm surprised people are surprised as it's something so obvious and personally i think China's idol worship culture is the reason for this current stupid outrage, One more reason to treated it as a mental disorder like OCD and give people who exhibit excessive celebrity worship mindset re-education to bring them back to their senses.

Just bananas doing banana things.

She is not a CPC member (cough cough... Qin Gang... cough cough), she is free to date whoever she wants.

And chinese people are also free to express their disappointment for dating someone who has been disrespectful to us, but we shouldn't blame her just because she decided to date a westerner, we are not on r/azn*den#*#y.

I mean, she's half-white and her values is also mixed with American when it comes to dating/sexual proclivities which frankly is none of our business. But because she's a national icon especially in China and seen as some sort of a role model for many young girls and women in the country the scene of her supposedly making out with the French swimmer (whom made unsavory actions against a Chinese athlete and coach) is pretty upsetting.

Her social media action against Marchand to show her artificial support for China and then to turn around by literally getting dunked on and eventually literally bodied by the same French man that many Chinese people despise is literally akin to China getting D...k on for good measure. Especially against a person considered close to a national treasure. But what we can say to this situation is akin to a Christian Bible proverbs that comes to mind: For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other.

Eileen Gu she f...d up. And now must pay the price for the consequences of her actions. Her choice of men is her business and the choice of whom the Chinese throw their support to is equally theirs.
I never really liked her but it has nothing to do with this. They're just young people being young at the club. From the first time I saw her face, I knew there was no loyalty there, only oppertunism. Gu says she will represent USA in Salt Lake City. I'm fine with that and happy to see the end of China's infatuation with a half American. I don't want her to even come back to represent China again; we should use our local girls over her. Morals that show conviction always take precendent over ultimately useless gold medals.

By the way, Marchand apologized for that saying he was not paying attention and did not mean any disrespect. He brought a gift to the Chinese coach as well.

I mean she is half white and American. What did they expect?

It's funny how China is not a fully developed country yet but the people act like they are completely sheltered in a rich mansion. Did they really believe a mercenary who chose to represent China would have loyalty to the country and it's people?

But as others said, she delivered the gold medals. That's was the deal and she completed it. A mercenary who actually delivers what's promised without issues already beats expectations by a lot.

Hopefully she'll be soft-banned post Salt Lake City. There're already too many young Chinese women on Xiaohongshu copying her style and dressing and acting like some Y2K valley girl. Dressing and acting like a parody of people from a country that jokes about nuking you is the epitome of poor taste.

Exactly, that Eileen Gu worship was so cringe from the beginning both here and in China itself - you would think she's some kind of national hero like Qian Xuesen but she's just a snowboarder who took the opportunity to perform in the Olympics and, importantly, received money from China to pay for her training. Maybe this cringe obsession will finally die down after this.

As for ppl being upset over her making out with Marchand... she is half-white, lives in the US and dyes her hair blonde, what did they expect, lol. Should've known better than to elevate her into a national icon status.

Actually, I think the correct news is Eileen Gu agreed to be ambassador to support Salt Lake City bid for the Winter Olympics. The next few cities are already chosen and Salt Lake City isn't until 2034. I don't think she would be competing in 10 years time in those events. She would be 31 years old.

Hold your horses. I think Marchand had already approach the Chinese coach to apologize as he was distracted and thought the Chinese coach was holding the rope for him to crawl under. There was also a picture together hugging after they sorted things out.

It is only available on Chinese media and none of the western media covered this.
