Rep. Adam Schiff calls on Biden to withdraw from the presidential race

Rep. Adam Schiff, a prominent Democrat and leading candidate for Senate in California, urged President Joe Biden on Wednesday to "pass the torch" and exit the presidential race.

“Joe Biden has been one of the most consequential presidents in our nation’s history, and his lifetime of service as a Senator, a Vice President, and now as President has made our country better,” Schiff said in a statement.

“But our nation is at a crossroads,” he added. “A second Trump presidency will undermine the very foundation of our democracy, and I have serious concerns about whether the President can defeat Donald Trump in November.”

They only have 15 - 21 more days to oust Biden.

How did Taiwan steal US microchip production...? Did Taiwan pull off a heist of ASML and stole billion dollar equipment to make these most advanced chips in the world? No. They bought it. Meaning they have a right to use it for what its purpose is for since that's why they bought it in the first place. That's why it's pretty much the same way when the US accuses China of stealing. Notice there's never a complaint filed for China stealing? Because it's the same spin. If China traded market access for technology transfer, then that's a legal transaction not stealing. If it was such a bad deal, they could've said no. Americans accuse China of stealing US manufacturing jobs. No that's what US companies voluntarily did on their own so they can make more money. China isn't forcing them to make more money for themselves.

Look at how the US and the West talk about stealing Chinese technology because China does it to them. Well then why don't they do it? If China was doing it to them they should be able to do it to China. It's because it would open the door for anyone to violate all the rest of Western intellectual property meaning China isn't doing what they accuse or else why be afraid? Then look at why they don't is because the ruling might not go in their favor. This way they can just say it without any institution saying otherwise. There's recourse by the WTO and other entities where they could prevent the export of technology that came from the stealing of Western technology. So why haven't they exercised it? They just said a US 60% tariff on all Chinese products would halve Chinese GDP. That means over half of China's economy is dependent on the West. So why haven't they exercised it when they are so important to China's overall economy? Because they're lying again because China is not that dependent on them. They think they can stop China's advanced semiconductor development by stopping denying all countries that are involved in advanced technologies from selling to China. So how come they can't do it here? It ain't stopping further Chinese advance chip production. Maybe because it's all lies and spin like how Trump says Taiwan stole US chip manufacturing from the US...

Trump pulled Abe towards him while shaking his hand so he could whisper into his ear, "I remember!" meaning Pearl Harbor. Former Governor Larry Hogan of Maryland who is married to a South Korean woman said that Trump told him in conversation how he doesn't like South Koreans and doesn't trust them. There's a debate in the Philippines on whether the US is going to actually help them after their latest skirmishes with with the Chinese Coast Guard because they were expecting the US under Biden to directly to get involved but didn't. They're even more worried if Trump becomes President. Now Trump says he's not going to save Taiwan from a Chinese invasion.

Its a given if Trump won it will benefit Duterte tremendously as both of them had a good rapport. (Fact : Trump is the one who stop a colored revolution against him penned and plan by Obama appointed CIA ambassador Goldberg) So you can see Marcos and his administration shivering as a lot of political butterflies flying around changing their colors....lol

Everyone in the west and even some here seems to have really swallowed the "Indian economy" hype train when in reality it's quite the opposite of what's being advertised and pushed in most western "analysts" splash across all media platforms. Much like India's current infrastructure qualitative deficiency as seen by the constant collapsing of bridges, shoddy built road, airport collapsing, train derailments. Not to mention the much hype Indian military and army that's once again facing numerous deaths from insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir as well as the woefully introduced scheme of Agnivath/Agniveers - causing headaches, intra-service friction and discrimination - all in the quixotic pursuit of supapowah status.

Youth unemployment is so high that it's contributed to an increase in suicide rates in India

Japan's stock market is at an all time high. Yet no one would dare seriously suggest Japan is on the same level as it's prime in the 80s.

I would almost argue if your stock market is high and finance analysts are shilling it, it's a bad sign. Just remember corporate raiders try to increase the stock price of their targets yet their actions are usually negative.

One of the few times i agree with SCMP opinion on something Chinese.
Chinese outfit look extremely boring and western, a bit more hanfu style outfits would look better.

You gotta walk a mile in their shoe before critiquing the choices made ...

Official team wear is not only used for Opening/Closing ceremony. It's also used for official movements (eg. flight to Paris) and other functions.

The problem with a traditional design like this (or a hanfu) is that it is an all-or-nothing design. There is no ability to layer or loosen/unbutton to adjust for comfort (eg, long haul flights) or weather (it is summer in Paris).

So while I agree the Mongolian motif is stunning, it looks more like it was designed from a form over function perspective. I wonder how the athletes feel about wearing that for 6+ hours of an opening ceremony in sometimes very hot and stuffy holding areas.

The other comments I find nonsensical. China's official uniform is lambasted for it's outmoded gender typing (skirts for women) but a traditional design, tradition being even more misogynistic, featuring skirts for women is lauded? lolz SCMP

The kit I'm lusting over is the China track suit. I've been wanting to exchange for one since forever
