It's not just about being white. The populist right is sympathetic to Russia because they're also majority Christian and tend to be conservative pro-fossil fuels / anti-"green agenda", pro family values / anti-"woke", pro-autarky / anti-"globalist", etc. China OTOH doesn't engage in these cultural wars.
Right wing westerners feel alienated in domestic politics and see Russia exemplify values they held. They see no hope of enforcing their value at home without force. They rather Russia win and beat up their 'oppressors' than letting their domestic enemies win. And maybe in that process, they can retake politics from humiliated domestic opponents.

I would be careful about taking one man’s statement and turning it into an absolute fact. Not to mention that the person in the video seems a bit unhinged and that he is using rumors to corroborate his statement. As of now, there is literally no evidence that points towards the foreigners instigating the fight. YES, I do know about the white supremacists who go to Asia to feel good about themselves and distract themselves from their poor and pathetic lives. However, no official statements from CHINA or, even better, video footage have been made about who started the fight. Let’s wait and see what details are going to be released or leaked out into the Internet.

I am in total agreement with what you said. However, what I did provide is simply an added context or version of events from the non-western dominated news and coverage and perspective. Since as often than not, western lense on things without full evidence are almost always exclusively hoisted as the truth when most often than not it's not.

I do think it serves as a good reminder to not take western media at face value, regardless of post's turthfulness. We often see similar hate crime in the west, and sometimes it becomes more salient than common sense. By common sense I mean not trust western media about China, especially negative contents.

I found this in a local paper from Iowa:

According to a person who got stabbed, they said that the police told them that the attacker recently fell on hard times and what set him off was a bump from one of the members in his group).

In addition, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that the incident was an accident with no political connections and had to emphasize that to a Western journalist who looks like they want to spin the incident into a “rabid Chinese nationalist attack foreigners” story.

It seems to be an unfortunate accident, and a recently mentally ill person was within a hair’s breadth of losing his mind.

Wow, seems like the type of "accidents" that occur regularly in the states, surely the CIA/FBI doesn't have anything to do with these incidents? These hitpieces all lined up ready to go, almost seems like they have been preparing an angle to smear China to stop foreigners from visiting China to see the truth.

Yes, you can say Ming/Qing did not cultivate advanced science and technology (i.e., industrial revolution or military tech) as well, falling behind the West just like the three Muslim gunpowder empires. The difference is modern China learned and adapted, created its own elite science and technology (e.g, Hypersonics, subs, Beidou, EV, solar, etc..) whereas modern Turkey, Iran, Pakistan are reliant on foreign science and technology, still laggards. These three countries still have big bombs, but robust economy and advanced tech? Nothing changed in 500 years. Same can't be said for China.
But for China, it only changed very recently, 50 years or so. So I wouldn't write off the others, because global conditions are rapidly changing today.
