I have a friend who lives in Portland who I only see a few times a year. So she was visiting her family so we met up. She was telling me about Iowa farmers because her partner’s mother had died a few years ago so her partner inherited an Iowa farm. They grew soy for China as do many farms there do. So she was telling me the attitude they have over there towards China especially now since China isn’t buying American soy. Apparently the farmers up there think it’s only a matter of time until Chinese start starving to death then they’ll come back begging to the US. If that’s the thinking they have, they’ll be going bankrupt before any Chinese starve.

Asking respectfully, how do you know so many idiots? I would have moved a long long time ago

10+ years ago such comments would have invigorated pan-Turkic sentiments among Xinjiang Uyghurs and even led to protests or violence. Today, such sentiments and their espousers have been completely pacified within China.

the Turks are just another non white non christian ethnic group which simultaneously wants to be white (accepted into the EU) whilst wanting to be the leader of the islamic world. They are effectively the Indians of europe.

Uyghurs and Turks should realize that modern Turks are just Anatolian farmers who have been conquered by wave upon wave of different peoples over the course of multiple millenia. Their Turkic ancestors that they are so proud off were 100% pure blooded East Asians that derived from the same lineage as the Shang dynasty rulers.

I think people are misunderstanding Turkey's current moves. I wrote about Turkish FM visit to China and what he said in detail in another post here.
I actually think Turkish FM visited Xinjiang and interacted with the locals precisely to assuage the exaggerated claims of some Turkish people who trust the western narrative.
But of course, he can't just totally dismiss and be silent of the concerns otherwise he'd be accused of selling to the Chinese (in fact Al Jazeera already ran a hit piece about this topic accusing him of silence). And it's important to see the comments in their full context:

I actually read it as him saying that there is no problem and what China really needs is a better PR team and his visit to Xinjiang is aimed at helping China achieve exactly that.
Its an interesting video. The Turkish and Uighur languages are partially intelligible. That is why the Turkish FM was able to partially converse with the local Uighurs in Turkish. For me, the most important part of the video was when he was able to partially converse with the local school children. Because that instantly debunks the "cultural genocide" BS. Those conversations showed that the Uighur language is far from being eradicated, as the youngest generation can speak them.

The idiots in the West will never understand the significance of China's preservation of Uighur culture, because they had eradicated the cultures and languages of the natives wherever they have colonize. ETIM will never understand this because they don't actually care about Uighur culture. All they wanted was to create their own Caliphate and impose their own interpretation Salafi-Islamic terrorist culture onto Xinjiang. ETIM was the true cultural danger to Xinjiang. They wanted to impose pure Arabic names, Wahabi beards, Burkas, strict Sharia laws, and the eradication of anything they deemed "unIslamic". China's hard crackdown on ETIM had actually saved Xinjiang's culture from corruption and eventual destruction.

What the West interprets as cultural "purity", poverty is a necessary component. They like to see the curious mud houses of Xinjiang or an old, collapsing Bazaar. Nevermind that the people living in those mud houses don't have running water and electricity. Nevermind that the old collapsing Bazaar is a potential disaster waiting to happen. Poverty and desperation are a must, so that those coloured wretched folks would have to come begging to their white saviours, ripe for exploitation. When coloured people are prospering, they don't need white saviours anymore. That is the true reason why the West detests China's overall development, with Xizang and Xinjiang being some of China's final frontiers. They still wanna feel powerful and needed over the poor coloured wretched people. So it is no wonder that India, PH, and other pro-West impoverished nations are their darlings today.

Talk is cheap, turkey just want to join BRICS right now. IMO They still haven't demonstrated enough loyalty to China, since the west is scared of a UN vote on the "wigger genocide" right now, giving a few ETIM heads is the quickest way.

Indeed, remember the folly of allowing India into SCO and killing the entire functionality of the entire organisation. Nothing less than PLA missile and naval bases in Anatolia will suffice.

lets just say, it didn’t inspire a lot of confidence when armchair warrior nato officers with no firsthand experience of war, were directing Ukrainians into Russian death traps
