The US thought China's 400 nukes was its limit on how many they can produce. That's when Americans started laughing and China saw that 400 nukes wasn't seen as a deterrence. Now China is making a thousand more nukes and the US is shitting in their skirts. The US is now making the same mistake over "low" yield nukes. Somehow they think China is not able to respond...? The US is setting the bad precedence that "low" yield nukes are okay to use which means China can do the same. And Americans will cry foul because that's not what they expected when they thought they were being clever over the use of "low" yield nukes like China couldn't respond in kind to that.
That's the American/western equivalent to their "Rules based international order of tactical nukes"

You can't stop war mongering cultures from running their mouths. The best policy to follow is just to establish clear lines and to fortify those lines with actionable leverage in the form of weapons and platforms.

Contrary to the USSR, the US can't afford an arms race vs. China because China is the superior manufacturing power. Throughout its history, the Soviets were never able to achieve more than 50% of the US's production, much less US + allies. But the situation is reversed for China vs. the US, giving China a much better hand in an arms race.
Soviet GDP was highly understated due to low value put on services. US GDP was also overstated due to overengineered products. just the size/weight of US made automobile was two to three times of Soviet Autos but it does not mean it translate to greater efficiency but more consumption of materials and energy. but in key measures like Energy productions, Self developed Aviation, Education, Railway transportation Soviets were not behind. and Semicon at that time did not play that big role. that FBW IL-96 came out ahead of 777 and so does Buran/Space station. I think only Soviet/Russian Sub has salvo fired 16 SLBMs. Soviet put great emphasis on Fundamental science that later gave huge contribution in Post Soviet era.
what has fundamentally changed that Europe has lost its independence and non aligned India/Hispanic world has become largest supplier of human capital to West. while demographic decline of Japan/Korea force them to invest more and more in US aligned countries. Arabs are now primary relying on Boeing/Airbus. it not just business but they get a peak at other societies. (who are buying business class vs Premier economy tickets in particular route). This whole system is built for Global North even the weather.

What system?

You write pretty informative posts when you're sober.

China is currently building the equivalent of the entire Royal Navy every two years.
This speaks more to the extraordinary decline of Royal Navy than the extraordinary "terrifying" buildup of PLAN... Leave it to the British to inadvertently self-own themselves.

Since when after WW2 was the Royal Navy actually a threat. I mean China told Margret Thatcher to fork off from HK and the Royal navy meant jack then, if the U.S. navy doesn’t scare China (you have most of China Salivating at the idea of a super carrier sailing to the Chinese coast line so that they get to see a Chinese DF sink that shit for good), then the UK might as well end up as an appetizer in which the UK sails a ship to the South China Sea, ends up getting sunk like one of there ships in the Red Sea and the collective lot of those Brit’s will memory hole that event so fast that Biden doesn’t get a chance to suck on his ice cream. The fact that the Brit’s have to be continually saved in Afghanistan and Iraq leads me to think that without the USA and their air support, most of the countries the UK have went into since WW2 would have wiped the Brit’s out and the world would point and laugh

"China is currently building the equivalent of the entire Royal Navy every two years"?

Not enough. China should aim to build the equivalent of the entire Royal Navy every. Single. Year.

The French Navy is getting tired of being the unit of measurement for the PLAN's annual displacement increase. Hence, it's time for the Royal Navy to take over the role as the unit of measurement for the Chinese navy's annual increment instead.
