Beyond that, how nice would it be if the PLAAF can also have an airbase/airfield in the region. Could station a couple maritime patrol/ELINT/SIGINT UAVs to conduct intel gathering as well.

In the meantime, in case there are obvious indications that things are going really bad and out of control in West Asia due to the present conflict, someone in Beijing better be prepared to dispatch a naval task force (centered around one LHD and/or LPD with DDG + FFG escorts) to the region and conduct evacuations of Chinese nationals there.
protection of airbase will need significant resources and i doubt Chinese planes can reach there without touching down in middle. US has Europe and Mideast interconnected. than there is that heat near to equator that is much higher so make sure everything can deal with it reliably. another factor is of Tribe and religion. those countries maybe poor but the tribal leaders are rich with wealth spread around Gulf and West and they are the controlling factor.
see this gas station near Kazan, Russia with English letter on one side and that obvious Green with Presidential SUV parked . almost 100% presidential vehicles are black but think about the white SUVs of royals in Mideast. this is like creating similar environment.
I mean these people will prefer not cities with tall buildings so they will need some kind of interaction with village life in China.

So much for the "Malacca choke point":

Unfortunately, usefulness is irrelevant here. The only thing relevant is whose coffers are being filled. As long as the MIC holds the US regime in its pocket firmly, enormous amount will be wasted on "defense" continuously.

Merry Christmas!

Frankly I wish China would disengage with countries that spew out anti-China rhetoric and certainly not help them hoping to score points. All that does is create situations like this where they're going to be two-faced. Countries that see China trying to play nice only think how much they can take advantage not how much China must be a good guy to take their abuse.

The West has a history especially when they were colonizing the world telling the people they were oppressing, "It's just you and me against everyone else..." That way everyone else hates each other going after each other's throats except for the West. You have to wonder would people fall for that? Apparently they do. It must be like how an abused wife stays with her abuser. Just look at what the British did in Hong Kong. All they had to do was tell people you're superior if you follow your British Masters way of doing things. Look at today and those very looking Mongoloids think they're different and therefore superior. Hong Kongers didn't even bother to mix genetics to look whiter and somehow they think they're better. I always see Filipinos arguing how more closer to being white they are compared to other Asians because they're complaining how their colonial masters don't seem to recognize them over those very other Asians. When situations like that arise, do these people blame their masters for treating people less like them better than those that do what ever they command? No they instead they blame the people their masters give more attention to. Look at Indians who get angry at China because to them the Chinese economy is doing better than theirs because they think the West is giving Chinese favoritism over India. Well isn't that the fault of their master not giving them the attention they think they deserve? That's the kind of crazy logic the West gives to the world.

The West is crying over supply chains issues like never before. That's because the West is in a dire state like never before since they rose to power in the world. I was reading someone's comment charging all China does in the world is take from the world. Well that's why the West is in dire straits like never before. They colonized the world because they took for free what they didn't have. Then when the Cold War made them embrace human rights, they had to play nice but since there was no competition for the resources they needed from the rest of the world, the West could wait and hold back until they got the deal they wanted. Those resources weren't going anywhere. Then China enters the scene. Now China is out bidding them for the resources they need. The West is only use to getting the resources they need for free or at low cost. Now they have to pay market value or more to outbid China. By basic fundamental Western capitalist market principles competition raises prices. Their entire economic system was created from the exploitation of others from getting everything for free to having to outsource. Now you have the West cutting themselves off from supplies based on geopolitics.

The West can fool themselves into believing the world prefers them over China but their insecurities say otherwise and are more realistic. Why does the West have to taunt and threaten their military to countries that simply don't obey what they want? That's the only thing they have left but they know they can't because they'll suffer in return and the West can't take casualties like the rest of the world can hence how the US can kill a couple million Vietnamese while they only suffered around fifty thousand and they still lost. The only way the US can change back the world to when they were in control as much as they'd like is through war. Low probability and chance that will ever happen because Westerners think their lives are that valuable that they wouldn't want to sacrifice them. That's why the world and the future is bleak for the West and look at the fools that place their bets on them.
I like two faced countries. You know they want benefits are China can arrange win wins. What I don't like is dogmatic country that will hurt itself severely just to mildly annoy China.

Argentina is simply unhinged, but they still have room to negotiate. Some country cannot be negotiated with.
