Good point but Argentina like Pakistan doesn't have competent system in place to run their economy without constant aid they're used to handouts and may become a liability to BRICS, Iran make more sense for all their faults they still have a decent industry and resources not to mention their strategic position there will be Western objection but no point in addressing it their concern with China today is rooted in fear of losing white privilege it's an emotional argument and you can't do anything to satisfy it you'll be vilified anyway might as well choose the option that's best for your interests.
Pakistan still keeps the regional wanna-be rival/superpower in check. Argentina soon won't have a central bank.

Too bad and such a shame. For all the low quality content, the site was an archive for some precious threads and live coverage of ongoing conflicts.

A forum hosted in the US scares the Pakistani intelligence agencies. You guys have no clue what kind of a pathetic regime is currently running Pakistan. Can you imagine that a bunch of ordinary moderators/members of a discussion forum would be taken hostage in broad daylight?

These boomer dinasours have no clue. Most of the PDF members that are expats will move to other forums now and further damage the general's reputation. The damage will be far more significant.

Great news. Something else interesting caught my eyes in that article.

Interestingly Geoffrey Hinton also left the US due to his anti-war stance, especially against the Vietnam war.

Perhaps China's peaceful rise can attract more researchers due to ideological reasons. I know for example there are many researchers in Japan who refuse to take research projects associated with the defence industry.
Inb4 Pentagon actually also funds those peaceful Canadian labs as some nice cover for pacifist.
We are talking about canada where the government praised a real certified ww2 nazi, do people really still see canada as some sort isolated nation from the US empire. We had the same sort of reputation with the Swiss then CryptoAG leaks happened and Switserland has been a US controlled province all along.

Pakistan under the current military regime is dangerous and unpredictable. Pakistan unlike Iran is in the business of appeasement. Iran has a very clear stance with regards to US policies etc. The Pakistani decsionmakers are only interested in running their economy through IMF loans. The Pakistani generals have business interests in the US. Most of these generals retire in Western capitals. In other words, the generals are in the business of keeping all sides happy irrespective of making the right choice. We have witnessed that the Pakistani generals are willing to overthrow a chosen leader at the orders of the Americans. That is dangerous.

China is historically a great ally of Pakistan. The vast majority of Pakistanis both abroad and in Pakistan trust China blindly. Simply because China has withstood testing times. What I fear are the current crop of duplicitous Pakistani generals. China needs to calculate every step with regards to Pakistan. I understand that China won't agitate and Interfere. China isn't the US. Nevertheless, China should keep a close eye on the decsionmakers in Pakistan. These so-called leaders are untrustworthy.

Pakistan is headed for turbulent times in the near future. Probably elections will be held early next year after Imran Khan is eliminated. What happens after this is anyone's guess.

Canada is more or less an economic hostage of the US, they do as they please... Canada-U.S. trade in goods and services represent about two thirds of Canada's total global trade. They can decide of our collapse anytime.

Our governement isalso so full of morons that we are just jumping from embarrassment to embarrassment.

Why would BRICS want a semi failed State with no future in their club? Don't they realise Argentina is more or less a reality show these days
Supposedly the invitation was at Lula's (Brazil's) insistance -- wanted more "Latin" representation (supposedly, China and India [yes, China along with India] really didn't want Argentina in -- that's according to "The Duran" YouTube channel)....

Shocking. I no longer post there but I use PDF as a news aggregator. I always pick up some interesting news there that I otherwise would have missed.

Hopefully things at PDF will be resolved and it can soon re-open.

PS to the Mods

I didn’t know the closing of PDF was already being discussed here so I made a whole new thread about it. You can delete that thread if you want.
