The Biden admin is trying to tone down their hostile behavior against China due to being overstretched ever since October 7th. They would still be banging the war drums with China had it not been for the problematic situation in the Middle East combined with Ukraine. This ”mildly warm period” will only last until one of the two conflicts is eventually resolved. Either way, it is beneficial for China to take advantage of the extra time while the US is distracted.

If these "problems" are resolved, new problems will prop up. People are no longer afraid of US and western power anymore. So, they are much more bolder and taking risks. If this was 2004 for example, there is no way Azerbaijan would have taken over Nagorno Karabh like it did, and without much western opposition as well.

Turkey is getting bolder about it ambitions and dreams about its older ottoman glory, Iran wants its own sphere of influence, Russia wants to regain its old empire. They also have the resources to back it up too. A lot of countries in the global south are much richer and also much bigger in population than before.

Combined with that, they now have China as solid backer in the technological goods realm. In the past, Russia would have been crippled without western tech goods, but now China can pick up the slack. The global south itself is a big enough market that many countries can withstand full sanctions by selling to the rest of the world.

Then there is the prolifiration of missiles and drones. Now even poor insurgency groups can perform air strikes with cheap drones. Missiles can also replace an air force. So, modern battlefield is very friendly towards defense compared to offense.

I think this whole century will be full "problems" that keep propping up, these are challenges to the western hegemony and slowly US and its allies will be increasingly powerless to prevent such crises and eventually lose influence all over the world.

Yes this is the part where Westerners think they can speak what others are thinking, not because it's what's really on their minds, but because the West doesn't want to look bad when it looks like they want it. It's like when Americans charge what Chinese are plotting without any evidence because they do that so many times it like the boy who cried wolf, so they say this person or that person is thinking it to make it sound like they really said it to confirm it so that Americans will be okay with any action.

I've read quotes from this General Brown before saying that China doesn't have the capability to take Taiwan like it was a taunt. Quite different now saying China doesn't plan to take Taiwan militarily. You don't have worry about it if you think China can't do it in the first place so why say it? Saying Xi is thinking this takes the onus off of him where if China did invade, he would look bad for being wrong because he tuned up the heat.

The Marvels made just 57,000 USD outside the USA. The MCU is dead. IMO it was the biggest soft power boon of the USA in the 21st century.

That is just Finland. The other countries haven’t been reported yet. Either way, Marvels is doing worst than Five Nights At Freddy’s beside being the worst in the MCU revenue.

Oh well, the marvel franchise destroyed itself by all kind of poor decisions but really, trying to force woke and the LGBTQ has got to be some of the most stupid of decisions they could possibly make. Movies are not supposed to force lessons onto others, they are supposed to entertain and help others unwind after a crappy day in the office. I know the west likes to get on Chinas case in regards to censorship but really is censoring or outright prevent marvel films from being promoted and filmed in China a bad thing, because even in their own nations, nobody really wants to tolerate crap either, especially pretentious crap that dials up on ‘the message’ and takes away the action we all want. It’s almost like forcing Donnie yen to be a sissy character and then cutting away from the action he is so famous for.

Your posts and it's content in terms of the current geopolitical trends and analysis makes sense to people that want to see the west weaken it's decline and hold of the world. But such view and the current unfolding of events along with the future you've laid out is also why the west and it's supporters from its perceived vassals and supporters in the global south want the west to remain the dominant player. The west provided post WWII a pillar of stability in what's always been a chaotic world, when might makes right. It's the rationale that western prime gardener Borrell alluded to when describing countries outside of western gardens as jungle. What's your take on that western centric view?
