Seems to me the Philippines is doing it in order to distract their populace from their lackluster performance in every economical, societal and developmental metric.

I mean people like to harp how ROC performs better than PRC because of 'democracy', so they should support them. But when you look at the Philippines vs China... there really is nothing there.

Turkey is also sending its Finance Minister to Gulf countries after visiting Europe. I am sure in that German-French form he would have been told what need to be done. but i doubt it will work trying to rescue economy when human capital not there.
