genocide of the Dzungar people
northern Vietnam by dynasties stretching back to the Han. The Vietnamese certainly remember this
Excuse me. What happened to the Dzungars is no different from what happened to the Pomeranian, Prussian, Sudeten and Baltic Germans. All of these communities spent decades actively waging nearly non-stop wars of aggression and invasions of nearly all of their neighbours until the major power in the region (Soviets, Qing) had enough, killed some, resettled and assimilated some, and expelled the remainder. They were not a motley group of rebels launching some occasional retaliatory terrorists attacks against foreign occupiers. Please do not use these to rope us in.

Ah you want to bring in Vietnam! good! Northern Vietnam was first inducted into China with the conquest of rogue Chinese official Zhao Tuo and his family. It broke away in the early middle ages under rogue Chinese central government official who happened to be born in Northern Vietnam, Ly Bon, but this attempt was quickly defeated. After the total fragmentation of China in the 10th century and defeating attempts for unification including by local Vietnamese governors like Kieu Cong Tien, Vietnam became an independent state, Dai Viet.
No similarity to Israel-Palestine here.

Dai Viet fought a few wars to resist the Mongols who were halfway through their conquest of China. Later, the Vietnamese warlord Ho Quy Ly, while launching attacks on the Ming, declared himself Emperor of Great Yu (ancient Chinese state), descendant of Great Shun (ancient Chinese sage king). In opposition, thousands of Vietnamese scholars officials petitioned the Ming to annex Vietnam. These were given one of the best government-run education programs at the time to prepare Vietnamese to enter into Ming civil service. When it didnt work out, Ming pulled out completely and left. In the 18th century the Vietnamese monarchs simply requested the Qing as part of the tributary contract to protect him from rebels, but when intervention was going nowhere, the Qing left.
No similarity to Israel-Palestine issues.

If you guys decided to make all the Palestinians into Israeli citizens and provide them full public services, let me know. Or alternatively let me know when all the Palestinian territories are treated as independent. Only then will we have some equivalency.

CIA funded trolls and NAFO bros brigade to ban your account (fake name if you have a functioal brain lol) is a bit petty. But the Israeli brigade apparently has been calling the local police/fbi to report people as terrorist at the worst (many other times trying to dox you to lose your jobs in other times) is on a whole new intimidation level

Lol so much for "I know more than these little 小粉红”. I doubt anyone here qualifies. We are like early 20's at youngest here. Most are around 30's backed by polls a while ago. People here are well educated, many have masters and phd.

Love all the headlines from the Western news media saying this war upends China's plans...

If so then why are they trying to pressure China to work for Western interests? They should be for this war since it damages China's interests far more than US interests. If it escalates, all it does is push the Middle East more towards China like never before. Before, China wasn't seen as the alternative to the US and the West. And remember this fundamental fact... They've been pushing China away just because China hasn't bent the knee to them. They want to punish China because Russia invaded Ukraine. They can't cry China invaded Ukraine. All their worries about losing influence to China wouldn't be happening if they didn't go out of their way seeing China as their enemy and all because they're having difficulty competing economically with China. What are they going to do to China? Ban advanced semiconductors to China? See they already used that leverage up on something so petty and what's more embarrassing for them is that it didn't work.
Before the war, Palestinians and Hezbollah were doing nothing useful for China. Now they're actively doing at least something.

It's a net gain, and not a small one either.

Jacqueline and Michael, where have the butter gone in the US? What's your "long term strategy" to feed these 20% of your people?

President Biden: No. We're the United States of America for God's sake, the most powerful nation in the history-- not in the world, in the history of the world. The history of the world. We can take care of both of these and still maintain our overall international defense.

Joe, but at what cost?

Not the most reliable source, but sufficient for comic relief!
