You were the one who came up with the "worry about Africa" bit so I just ignored everything you said after that and concluded you are a young'un that will (hopefully) learn as you get older. I remember the last Cold War and how the Russians foolishly went toe to toe and saw them crumble trying to play the game the west drawing them into, the Russian arrogance was overwhelming, they believed the future belonged to them. They ended up imploding spectacularly. Learn lessons and discard the arrogance and irrationality. China has done well for itself but don't think for a minute it can't all go tits up due to foolish decision making. I'll leave it at that.

Certain things are too complex to understand unless person is following it diligently for long time. how do you think Russia gain this level of soft power in global south?. This is now translating into concrete results in demographics, culture, finances, military industrial complex , training, logistics, high end R&D and infrastructure that has gone beyond West. Moscow metro ridership approaching Tokyo metropolitan with less population. After MBS vacation in Oman its immediate Russian visit. Alot of things revolves around Russia in Africa, Mideast, South Asia you just need to understand it. why will Russia care about Europe with its declining population mix with foreigners. infact de industrialization of Europe will slowdown heatwaves and warm winters that can impact Russia. there is nothing irrational when you look at logically.

You ought to know that American victory in the cold war was not won by America and its western allies alone. How has China handled its long standing relationship with the continent of Africa? Has China become more demanding? Has it demanded any and or some of the African leaders to be replaced when it ran afoul with the Chinese interest?

PRC and USSR should not be mentioned in the same breath. Burgers need to be knocked down a rung (read: thoroughly humiliated).
