It is actually no laughing matter. I think that Tiktok actually does open the eyes of Western millennials, albeit not in a heavy handed manner. The random dance videos and comedy skits do not preach Xi Jinping thoughts or Communist Manifesto, but the background — even in fifth tier cities/towns or even villages, show a modern, clean, well managed nation in which people are respectful to one another. There are cosplayers, video game culture, anime/animesque animation and other things that Western millennials enjoy. This makes them subconsciously challenge the image of a monstrous China projected by MSM for the past seven decades.
