What does it matter what they say? If you give them reason, they will say it. If you give them anything, they will distort it and then say it. If you give them nothing, they will make reason out of thin air then say it anyway. It's the American way and caring about what they say is putting them on a pedistal. China should simply do what is in our interest, take all American noises as farts, and absolutely know that the only thing that matters is the balance of power. No matter what your ideology, no matter the good or evil of your actions, if you are weak, they will act against you; if you are strong, they will make noise, and if you are dominant, they will kneel.
In general, this is still what the PLA does since national relations fluctuate like a schizophrenic when dealing with democracies so if there's no need to make lasting hatred such as sinking ships and killing people, we would like to avoid it. But if they start sailing into the islands/lagoons and grounding their ships or take other actions that aim to change the status quo, in other words, if their actions actually bear fruit and are no longer making fools out of themselves, then it's time to teach them that Chinese cannons aren't just for intimidation. And let Westen mutts bark and get drunk on haterade all they want as we take real actions to strengthen and develop China.
You have to watch and listen to what other people say, regardless of how you feel about others the truth is that we share a world and their actions can affect the world, including China. When you fight someone you shouldn't let them dictate the terms, when you react you put yourself at a disadvantage. China should either ignore what the Philippines is doing or come out and ridicule them and exposing their plan to rope China into conflict.
Taking and occupying our land goes against our bottom line. I say we can try to cut off all trade with them and hurt their economy before anything more rash happens but I am not against violence if needed. They did this to themselves. F#ck around and find out.
We've been too lenient with these people. If anyone's going to be the chicken for the monkeys then let it be them.

You confuse actions with words. As I said, their actions affect the world, which are dictated by the power dynamic. We focus on actions, not their useless words.
That's what I said. China works hard to develop ourselves to change the power dynamic in our favor. We don't react to or care about their senseless barking. This is the opposite of what you have been advocating for.
If they are making fools out of themselves with no gains, that is fine.
That's wasting time reacting, a dragon with the world to bend spending time arguing with a little rat that has nothing better to do than cut his own ropes in the middle of the sea. The dragon should be at home making his scales harder, this fangs and claws sharper, and his fire hotter. And even if we do argue, even with all this time wasted, what would be the result? The media is censored in every country that is against China so that China's view is not heard and can only be found by those actively seeking it anyway. PR stunts are a total waste of time; strength is the only PR that shines through.
