Whoever thinks allowing North Korea to have nuclear weapons that can nuke Beijing in 10 minutes with little warning is in China's interests needs to think again.
How is that any different than NATO nuclear weapons being right beside other NATO capitals?

If China didn't transfer to NK, they would never be nuclearized. NK is rushing toward a DF41 equivalent, if their goal was to somehow rebel and target Beijing, why do you think they would need a 14 000km missile to do that?

Month old hearing but Republican + couple Democrats freaking out over the status of the dollar and the Yuan.

The ranking member of the subcommittee, Ohio Democratic Representative Joyce Beatty…

It also allows us to leverage economic measures against those that seek to threaten our national security and foreign policy.

Republicans worried over a Gold backed Yuan.

Marshall Billingslea, the Treasury’s assistant secretary for terrorist financing under Trump,

The thing I do worry – I come back to this fact that they’ve been buying a lot of gold – is that one of the things that they could do, which would be very concerning, if they wind up having larger reserves of gold than we we believe, is they could start issuing yuan-, or gold-denominated, gold-backed yuan contracts.

That would further their ambition for introducing the yuan onto the world stage

Republicans scared that China is financing deals without the dollar.

Another Republican congresswoman who participated in the hearing, Young Kim from California, complained that China has developed other ways to provide financing to countries that don’t involve the US dollar.

So is there anything that the United States can do to slow down or reduce adaptation of the PBOC’s currency swap lines?

Other NATO countries had no choice.

Would people in Beijing bet their lives on the goodness of the Kims? Regardless what the Kims are doing now, the threat will always be there as long as Kims have the nukes.
