Quality of new vehicles sold in the United States is declining as factors such as growing use of technology and lower build quality of certain parts are making the models more "problematic", according to automotive consultant J.D. Power.

The wide range of quality problems in the automotive industry is "a phenomenon not seen in the 37-year history of the Initial Quality Study", said J.D Power's senior director of auto benchmarking Frank Hanley.

Much to the delight of many in the community.
In a win for Gotion, however, the U.S. Department of Treasury determined that the purchase of Michigan land is not covered under the Defense Production Act, meaning the project continues to move forward, with the support of the township’s board, despite concerns in the community.

The Green Charter Township Supervisor Jim Chapman said he’s confident Gotion is still coming — and the project will move forward as early as July.
But some residents aren’t giving up, going up against their elected officials who support the Gotion project. They’ve started a petition to recall the entire board. More than 415 signatures are needed to recall the board and organizer Lori Brock is confident they’ll have enough by next week. If they’re successful, there will be a new election.
To them, taking over the board is the only way to stop Gotion.

Microvast, like Gotion, makes batteries for electric vehicles. While they are not owned by China — nor connected to it — the U.S. Senate Committee on Science and Natural Resources has a different opinion.
Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., asserted that CEO Yang Wu was recruited by the CCP.
Wu is a U.S. citizen and resides in the United States.

What's the matter anyway? Just blame it on "made-in-China" technology and parts, and you're set for life!

That is the nature of western democracy where no political party is equiped with a full package solution for the country in a long run, everybody is fighting for a short term rule and will find friend of convinience for that purpose. The current ruling traffic-light coalition is a wired mixed bag as much as AfD.

Because of this, I don't really think any of them have a true commitment to any values, they will adapt to the need to stay in the game of power. What actually differs AfD from the main-stream parties is that they care more of solid matters inside the country, instead of "democrazy adventures".

BTW, I am skeptical of MSM labeling "racist" or "radical" on a large party who represents a large chunk of population. A few nut head racists are there in AfD, but also many inside the mainstream parties. For one, keeping the border closed to any foreigners except tourists, students, skilled workers and business people is a common practice all over the world. If AfD is "racist" for that, everybody is. If AfD want to keep the door shut to refugees, it is the right of the citizens, afterall, charity is kindness but not obligation. The western liberals have been doing moral hijacking, blackmailing and concept manipulation for the past many decades both domestically and internationally. China and Chinese have fall victim of such attacks, so I will give AfD a pass for the moment.
I am skeptical of AfD's racistness too. What I see is they are really a bit problematic but they don't look like a true extremist and racist party. American and British media label any party in continental Europe that is not mainstream (pro-EU, neoliberal, Atlanticist, loves immigration, loves virtue signaling) as extremists. Look at this BBC-made figure about a French election. Every major politician except Macron was labeled as an extremist.

People arguing for argument’s sake when they say Harvard should be 100% Chinese.

If two schools are equally good, why would any parents choose the one that is homogenous in race. How does that benefit their kid, especially in a country like America.
It is you who is arguing for argument's sake. Like 90% of your posts I saw on this forum consist of concern trolling and US shilling, now you are whitesplaining why anti-Asian discrimination in higher education is a good thing. You so far did not provide a single evidence as to why picking candidates based on race and subjective criteria rather than objective ones is a better approach.

AfD is in the awkward position of having now a mix of outright white supremacists, disgruntled socalists, conservatives and anything in between who are (understandingly) upset with current government in Germany.

That hodgepodge of opinions and values is kind of a novelty in german political landscape. The only unifiyng thing that I could recount for the current AfD is that they are upset of german current governance.
The pact they have made is fragile and lose, any party internal conflict can be quite fatal for them.

This gives a huge opportunity for foreign state actors be it China, Usa, Russia to consilidate a dominant block inside the party which when their inevitiable election success in autunm 2024 arrives will ensure that the foreign state actor who manipulated the AfD the best will have a extremely powerful tool inside the germany and thus europe.

Sadly US State Department has done a better job in manipulating than Zhongnanhai in recent years so I am not optimistic about the pro-China block of AfD winning the power struggle, they even may get purged.

Russia is preoccupied with holding themselves together, so it will boil down to a Sino-Us dualism again.

The same story is repeating with Iran. Instead of becoming Chinese allies, they are now getting closer to Russia
Didn't realize it was Russia that got Iran to end its decade long rivalry with Saudi Arabia and work with the Houthis towards de-escalation in Yemen.
The west doesn't impose crippling sanctions just because you don't obey them completely.
No, they only impose them on their geopolitical enemies.
Russia intervened in Syria and Mali against Western interests and they did nothing.
Kind of a moot point since Russia still got sanctioned for annexing Crimea in 2014 and by the time Wagner got really involved in Mali the Ukraine War had already or was close to kicking off, and we all the know the story of Russia and sanctions afterwards.
India even built a port in Iran and got it excluded from sanctions.
Don't think it needs explaining why India has been able to avoid American sanctions despite maintaining ties with Russia and mistreating its minorities.
China could have done more at minimal cost 10 years ago. Today, any action China takes only accelerates American sanctions by a few months
So is the whole post lamenting that China wasted 10 years not building any solid allies? The past is the past and China then was too tied with the American economy and much poorer, so they had to pick their battles like it or not. China has no other obligation than the development of its living standards, its not the Soviet Union promoting some kind of insane vision of human utopia so can you blame it for acting mercantile at times? Plus you mention sanctions, for all the headlines China isn't even in the top list of countries with the most American sanctions. China-America relations suck, but its not as you say........
instead of recognising that the good times with the US are never coming back.
Bill Gates, Elon Musk, and Tim Cook visiting the country say otherwise. There are still areas of cooperation outside the Washington DC bs that exist and since China is still a developing country, its areas it can't afford to sacrifice.
China doesn't have any useful allies, that's the problem
So which is it, is it that China treats its allies poorly or that all of China's allies are poor countries? With respect to the latter, I already explained why that is in a previous post.

The Western media has some weird obsession with China's reaction to the "coup" in Russia. It's like they saw it was a surprise that China would support Putin. And why would they support the insurrectionists when the Western media was not too long ago was claiming Wagner soldiers killed Chinese in Africa? Oh, they forgot about that...

When you say you're seen as worthless in your own country, you're probably not soldier material. Before it was that Taiwanese "kid" claiming he went to Ukraine to volunteer to fight Russian hoping that Ukraine would do the same for Taiwan if China invaded. Maybe they were hiding the fact there's a vetting process for foreign fighters wanting to join Ukraine's fight against Russia to make sure they know how to fight and not get killed instantaneously from having no military experience. I doubt the Ukrainians ever even bothered with the likes of these two. That's why both of them are in their own countries telling their stories to the media and not fighting in Ukraine.
