Seems like history is repeating itself. Chinese rulers since the medieval era knew that allowing local rulers or popular generals to command personal armies is a bad idea. From the Jin war of the princes to the An Lushan Rebellion to the warlord era of late Qing and early ROC, provincial governors and generals often would launch devastating civil wars. The Tang Empire never recovered from the Anshan rebellion, and that too was started by a popular general. In Russia, like an empire in troubled times, the imperial forces coexist with private ones. Today in Russia both local rulers and popular generals have command of personally loyal forces. This is never a good sign.
Is this why the CPC has the PLA loyalty to the party per se and not to the "state" since that'll be subject to interpretation by any ambitious general during and after war time.

The respondents' perception of the relative insignificance of Beijing-Tokyo relations, despite strong bilateral economic ties, was "one of the most surprising findings" to Japanese researchers.
Japanese people always overestimate their image in the hearts of Chinese people.
They have many literary and film works that attempt to portray the argument that Chinese people love Japan very much, and their hatred towards Japan is incited by CPC.

With the exception of about half Hong Kong's population, who worship everything Japanese without question and think of themselves as honorary Japanese. These HKers will eat Yukushima seafood without question and ask for seconds.

Beijing can either stay strictly neutral, do nothing and wait for something really bad to occur - Or be prepared to actually do something about it.
I suddenly had a strange idea that the reason for China's involvement in the war (assuming) was likely not due to political provocation from the West, but rather the unpredictability of Russia.
To put it more harshly, if the Russians continue to make some shocking bad performances, China will have to personally help this geopolitical neighbor end the war.

and yet the Vietnamese gov are so pathetic, they allowed the US carrier Ronald Reagan to dock in port. All that bellyaching over China and yet they kowtow to caucasoids. It's like Ho chi Minh and his people died for nothing.
They're disgracing his memory.

Divide up their country, poison and bomb their land, occupy their ports, put them on your sanctions list, and they'll kiss your shoes and thank you for it.

Vietnam was added to the watch list of the FATF international financial crime watchdog, which said the nation was not effectively preventing the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

Well...

Frankly speaking, I think that any direct Chinese involvement or intervention as a result of the current instability in Russia is not that China will join the war on Russia's side against Ukraine to help Russia win the war, but more to control and secure security and safety of China and her immediate periphery in the face of a potentially increasingly unstable Russia.

There's a video I saw on Reddit where the PMC WAGNER Chief met and conversed with Russian Military deputy defense minister Yevkurov and Deputy of the General Staff Alekseev. It's alleged that Prigozhin told both men of his intentions on holding the area (don't know where the meeting took place) and his March towards Moscow.

This whole saga that's unfolding in Russia, amongst Russian Military people and leaders are just embarassing as f... With this recent development, how is Russia going to be able to shake up their already mauled image of a country run by competent leadership with mature, sensible, and sober people. In which their ambitions are checked for the sake of their state/fatherland/motherland and not look like a bunch of squabbling little children complaining that they're not getting the latest toys, or not being favored by their Papa, in this case by President Putin?

How is this latest development in Russia not a setback for their objectives and goals against their own ill-conceived "Special Military Operations" What happened to the Intelligentization, Informatized doctrine that am assuming Russia Military studied and incorporated into their own military doctrine? Just when I was beginning to think that Russians have smarten up and is finally able to live up to their reputation as a military power with their supposed successful disruption of the Ukraine counter-offensive this Prigozhin wannabe Caesar happens.

Russian men, and women are being wasted on the battlefield in executing the order of their President while the other would be President is busy trying to establish his own fiefdom by killing his own Brothers-in-Arms if need be. What a sad state of affairs this is looking for Russia. Ukraine could not be more happy to watch this shit show from happening and can even use this episode for propaganda purposes and further legitimizing why UKRAINE MUST AND HAS LOOKED West/America/EU/NATO.
