OP was talking about elite universities in America (Ivy League). So Chinese students in America. And if these universities accepted students solely on merit, Asians would dominate their entire student bodies.

Any data to support this?
China has both better quality and quantity research output vis a vis US, even when you account for the middle class in China only being slightly larger than the American one. Even through there is no definite way to actually measure how well both of the countries retain top level talent, that is still strong proof on China's side.

An university that doesn't accept solely on merit isn't an university worth your time. Sure, if the university has a big name, you can use the name to grift your way to personal wealth. But any place that doesn't put skill first isn't a dependable place.

That's a typical viewpoint of what the modern term is called "shitlib". The hardworking Chinese child is penalised for succeeding on merit because it affects the rainbow palette of the student body. What you just expressed is the coded fear of the white anglo parent who cannot compete against the millennia old pro-social high IQ of the Chinese nation. The days of the Anglo universities as centres of scientific research coming to an end cannot come soon enough.
Never even thought of it as "coded fear of anglo parents" or some hidden fear white people have of the "pro-social high IQ of Chinese nation" as you put it.
America is a multiracial society. Harvard doesn't want its student body to be overwhelmingly dominated by one group. If you only want merit, then Gaokao is for you.

China has a lot of things better than America these days. But I haven't seen any data that says institutions in China and Asia are the most popular choices for those who have the freedom of choice.

Solely on merit?!

Well no shit, only merit produces better outcomes for students, which leads to better quality and quantity of research as well as more skilled professionals.

It is in the Chinese peoples' interest that America continues to waste educational efficiency and stir up internal unrest because they need to placate white egos. So yeah, I'm a proponent of affermative action, especially when it trolls the hindus, as enemy on enemy action is always entertaining.

But it is still incredulous that you would unironically defend it by saying it makes universities more "multicultural" lmao

Indeed, there's more than a few stories of major Big 4 firms only hiring from the Ivy League, hence why the anglo elites will reserve spaces for their own Failsons and Faildaughters. Personal anecdote, i actually know one such girl now working for Blackrock on a liberal arts degree at Harvard, she's the typical anglo child of the ruling class: WASP, heavily medicated since junior high, both parents being lawyers and professors.

This is typical of the Brezhnev era; a declining superpower afraid of walking back gaffes for fear of looking weak.
Regardless of his political decision making, Brezhnev was a very charismatic man who could easily charm people at a personal level. Biden has nothing on him.

Biden is more like a Konstantin Chernenko.

One thing that Biden is a bit like Brezhnev is the whole Doctrine of Limited Sovereignty. Brezhnev's idea was that there are some things socialist countries cannot do because they will harm the whole socialist bloc as a whole, and if you do those things then he's going to kick your ass and beat you back into line, hence limited sovereignty. Biden has some similar notions. Recall Biden did not invite Singapore to his Democracy Summit because Singapore was too close to China and "not democratic enough" in his view.

What's wrong with that? Before it was almost 100% white and they were ok with it. What's wrong with 80% Asian? Your inner racism is really showing.

Teachers at a kindergarten in New Taipei City have been accused of sedating students with phenobarbital and benzodiazepines.

Police have been investigating for weeks and say it's not clear why the children were fed the addictive drugs.

On Monday, a separate case also emerged concerning a medical practice in the southern city of Kaohsiung, on the other end of the island.

The local health department there found four doctors guilty of misconduct and improper use of phenobarbital on about 20 children. They were ordered to suspend their practice for six months, and were fined 1.4m Taiwanese dollars (£35,989, $46,121).

Amid growing public concern, Taipei City Hospital has also begun offering free blood tests for preschool children to check for traces of sedatives.

Parents had noticed what appeared to be withdrawal symptoms in their children over the long Chinese New Year holiday period in February.

"Some parents found their children, over the vacation, had become irritable, restless and screamed when sleeping, and even cried out with leg cramps," he said.
