Between high costs, anti-science, anti-intellectual dogma and persecution Chinese students/researchers, the state of education in the US isn't on a good trajectory. Signs such as dropping enrollment and financial pressure on colleges - enough so that 91 small colleges essentially shut down in the last 6 years (with the trend is only getting worse):

It's a bit of a shame since education is the foundation of society.

The pathetic thing is high achieving Chinese students are being blocked from attending elite schools due to affirmative actions.

It’s theft plain and simple because Indians despite having its own homegrown company equivalents (all owned by Ambani), are simply too shit at competing in tech on the world stage.

Chinese Americans are so good at academics, elite universities like Harvard and Yale, etc.. have to discriminate. I don't think Chinese American students themselves want to attend universities that are all asian. Would Harvard still be Harvard if it is 80% asian.

I think when your ability to put food on the table depends on your graduating from ivy league colleges, you have a big problem right there, not everybody is a genius, here in australia, a beginner tradie like a plumber, plasterer, painter, electrician can be expected to earn $80K a year, and is not unheard of for a plasterer to earn up to $200K a year especially if you run your own crew

I don't know about Chinese in America, but Chinese as a group overwhelmingly prefer fair institutions where workers and students are promoted based on merit. Hence why the institutions in China and Asia are the most popular choices for those who have the freedom of choice.
OP was talking about elite universities in America (Ivy League). So Chinese students in America. And if these universities accepted students solely on merit, Asians would dominate their entire student bodies.

That's a typical viewpoint of what the modern term is called "shitlib". The hardworking Chinese child is penalised for succeeding on merit because it affects the rainbow palette of the student body. What you just expressed is the coded fear of the white anglo parent who cannot compete against the millennia old pro-social high IQ of the Chinese nation. The days of the Anglo universities as centres of scientific research coming to an end cannot come soon enough.
Indeed, there's more than a few stories of major Big 4 firms only hiring from the Ivy League, hence why the anglo elites will reserve spaces for their own Failsons and Faildaughters. Personal anecdote, i actually know one such girl now working for Blackrock on a liberal arts degree at Harvard, she's the typical anglo child of the ruling class: WASP, heavily medicated since junior high, both parents being lawyers and professors.
