Just out of curiosity what is the flipside or the "greener grass" scenario here? Because most of the world is more or less the same, in terms of major cities and metro areas being unaffordable.
To be honest, I don't think there is a "greener grass" scenario. I can't name a single industrialized country that doesn't suffer from the same issues. My point is that the United States, in spite of the astronomically high salaries, is no better than the rest of the world in this regard. That is probably why, as others have pointed out, most Chinese students in the United States return to China. It's easier to endure the hardships of life in a country you love.

She wrote a new opinion article. “India Global Rupee Ambition”

Someone should ask her if Russia is pivoting towards the Rupee system then why is the Ruble-Yuan share significantly higher.

indians comparing themselves to China is the height of their own narcissism. Far more appropriate to compare India to Nigeria. At this rate, Nigeria will become Wakanda well before India becomes a “superpower” beyond a superpower on twitter.
Why are they mad at China doing anything positive or anything that can be positively attributed with it?
It’s predominantly Anglo American, and I suspect western culture. They hate those who work hard and succeed, which is why there’s such a thing as Tall Poppy Syndrome in the anglosphere and Jantes Law in the Scandics.
My China Watcher theory is that it stems from europeoids not shaking off the Greater Chain of Being mentality from the Middle Ages where serfs remained serfs and we’re not allowed to progress unless they became knighted and even then, would have to wait like 7 generations before being promoted beyond knighthood.
Given the real reason why the US sabotaged the original peace plans during 2022 was to threaten China (on liberating Taiwan), it explains why Blinken was so butthurt meeting Xi to beg for assistance in ending the current conflict in Ukraine.
these ppl spent all of 2021 trying to create a new 8 nation alliance with India in tow, it was obvious their Ukraine strategy was china centred as well.

As I have said before, nations refusing to use their sovereignty ought to have it taken away. The Korean Peninsula and Japanese archipelago would be fine additions to China proper as DongBei once was to previous Chinese dynasties.

warning from the Anglo elites for India to resume being a sepoy slave against Russia even though Russia is white or else be balkanised. Indias response is ”but look how useful I can be against china if you build me up!”
pathetic.

In their eyes, anything China does is fake, stolen/copied, or going to be used for a dysutopian, fascist, communist and anti-human rights purpose. The only good China was the pre-Xi China. South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan, however, are the best countries (yes, they are fervent pro-Taiwan supporters), and they believe so because their wives are from there. If a video of an Asian person doing something good comes out, they must be Japanese or Korean. If the opposite occurs, they must be Chinese.
And Taiwanese aren't Chinese? Lol

Well I thank you for the honest answer rather than just going on with the "poop and needles on every square feet" meme, which really is just tired and needs no rebuttal.

For the record in my OP, I said based on my experiences these are a lot of Chinese expat's feelings for the moment. And for the moment simply put, in a lot of the industries they work in, American recruiters will literally fight over you. While back in China, most of them will say in their group of roughly 15 or so friends, 1-3 will be lucky enough to have a job in the field they studied, the rest are either stuck at home, working for their parents, or delivering for MeiTuan. Feel whatever you want about what I wrote in my OP, but the preceding sentence is reality that more and more members, even the diehard ones, are willing to acknowledge is a current reality in China. Sure money isn't everything, but putting food on the table is a non-negotiable part of life. Patriotism won't put food on the table and in America, if they can get a job in their field and if that field is still in a hiring frenzy, then so be it.

Maybe things will change in the future and I certainly hope they will, but from what I've seen that's just how some things are for now.

Being cheap on safety is exactly why regulations exist. Tho in this case there is no regulations and unlikely to exist for civilian purposes.
I can't help but wonder when watching this type of unfortunate but preventable tragedy to ponder and think the what if scenarios. Due to the geopolitical tensions between America and China and the abhorrent nature of the debate with all things China. I can only imagine of this same fella/owner who's arrogance along with his brazen disregard for safety as anathema to "innovation" ignoring safety issues, defects, and just outright quality shit made sub was OF MAINLAND CHINESE MAN and this HORRID AND PREVENTABLE UNTIMELY DEATHS happened in China, all the talk would be OVERWHELMINGLY POLITICAL and RACIAL.

The tone of the reporting would be how reckless and uncaring Chinese people are about safety in general; how unsafe and inferior quality Chinese made products are. Finally, how MONEY HUNGRY MAINLAND CHINESE PEOPLE are that it's wanton disregard for safety in exchange to make a quick buck.

Some say it is the real China but can’t clearly and detailedly say why. Some just parrot that it’s independent and that it is a free democracy. Others ramble about “West Taiwan” and “Bing Chilling”. I just think they just want to seethe and earn some credit points for their FICO scores considering their economic backgrounds.

They used waste Chinese steel plumbing pipes for ballast. Totally China's fault.

What? What type of industry or expertise/educational background did these 15 friends of yours studied? Finance? STEM related fields? I am asking because I don't want to misunderstand or misinterpret the context of what you posted I quoted above. Based on what you wrote, one can surmise that the current job marker in China is very tight, not as financially rewarding as in the U.S. not as wanted by Chinese Companies in tech or just in general, and the compensation is not very competitive compared to what American recruiters from x,y,z, American companies would do.

All I can say to that is BULLSHIT. Please, which company or companies in the U.S. are going all out in head hunting or out bidding would be recruits in whatever field of economy in America? Are we talking about the current job market? Or is your opinion based on the past trend, pre-covid 19 and pre-inflation period?

Look, I frankly don't give a toss if you prefer America, love American system, love American style of business etc..but for the love of Joseph, Mary, and Jesus provide some verifiable data to the claims you make, and that you seem to insist to be the true narrative of the overall job prospects in China right now.

Don't know if this has been posted or not but here's the list of the dead passengers. To be honest, I thought this would be some excuse to get rid of some people involved in NordStream II destruction. Found it funny that the CEO got himself killed by his own negligence.
