93% ballots counted with a ~5% lead for Erdogan at 52.5%. Looks like he is going to win but the results are very close.

his margin of victory not large for effective governance. Turkey has $60b of negative reserves and this despite all the help of friends. not very effective governance. Erdogan is getting old and has fallen asleep many times. i think governing a parliament and running election campaign wears a person. he looks older than his age.

Australia is an integral part of the American Empire. Any trade ban the US imposes on China also Australia will follow.

Australia does not have sovereignty and will never be a reliable trading partner.

China should invest more in mines in Latin America, Russia and Africa and stop buying so much from Australia. But for other things than natural resources Australia is nothing and China should not even care about tariffs.

There is no difference between Republicans and Democrats. Democrats only use racial and sexual minorities, which they consider inferior, to get into power and serve their white leaders.

The only competition between parties is for public and private money generated by elections to deceive the people.

In politics both Democrats and Republicans just obey the same commands that the military and big corporations send them.
Integral for now, but for how long is this so called empire expected to last with all its problems and ultimately when all those other empires in the past fell, none of its vassals stayed loyal for very long nor did it cry for very long either.

The USA empire is crumbling and on the day of its destruction, not even Australia will be expected to help save that nation especially with all its problems. Chinas focus is right, once the USA is out of its picture, China can pick and choose which nation has value and which nation does not and when China becomes the next dominant nation in the region, expect any past vassals and any US leaning leader in the region to be eventually removed from power one way or the other given.

Heck even that future Thai leader when the USA is out of the picture will eventually have either two choices, follow Chinas lead or be disposed of in the new world. In the future, the Asia pacific and the rest of the world will be for China to taking from the USA and I can almost guarantee that Australia will fall under Chinas orbit one way or the other (given all that investment China has in Australia and every other nation not the USA, one way or the other, China not let any future investment go to waste). That the problem with vassals, they are only loyal as long as the empire is in control but the moment that control is gone, the next nation will eventually take over and will get rid of all those US leaning trash and I think I will enjoy watching that happen. Besides, one thing to note, once the USA is out of the picture, is China going to tolerate having any more US leaning nation on its door step causing trouble when at that point to ensure China safety that such nations will have to either cease such support or face destruction because I do t think China is going to be quite as willing to take any more crap from another any more at that point

Holy shit, the under 30 years old is absolutely crushing it and completely deviating from the older generation.

The younger generation absolutely see the vitriol anti-Asian racism of the right-wingers. The only reason you would vote Republican is lower taxes, which reflect increasing Republicans support with increasing age as personal income rises.
No, if you are Asian you should always vote republican because it degenerates the American empire faster.

Not so sure about that. The dems are more militaristic than the GOP these days. The GOP is more skeptical of the UA-RU war and many believe that it is important to patch things up with Russia in order to counter China. That is a smarter way of going about things rather than pushing China and Russia together which is what the Biden admin has done.

Erdogan's win is a net positive for the multipolar order. His rival openly tried to align himself with the US before the 2nd round. Erdogan is a pragmatist. His economics is a bit stupid but I don't think Turkey will collapse like Lebanon or Sri Lanka. Geopolitically, he's savvy, trying to balance the major powers.

The U.S. really really wants a war with China. Taiwan separatist government is apparently in talks with the US to have the island be brought under American nuclear umbrella. WTF

Or it reflects DPP's anxiety that it will lose the presidential election in January next year.

Since this is about the third time it's posted here, I will demonstrate again that it's impossible to dislodge China from the global supply chain anymore, because in terms of international trade, China is at a more dominant position than the US post WW2.

How about fixing the crimes and homeless first? Even Portland is removing homeless camps as homeless has become so unbearable.
