South China Sea: Chinese ship orders Philippine plane flying over Spratlys to ‘leave immediately’

  • The coastguard pilot of the aircraft, carrying journalists, responded that they were flying within Philippine territory in the disputed waterway
  • Security personnel also spotted nearly 20 Chinese boats in waters around some of the Manila-occupied islands and reefs
As a Philippine coastguard plane carrying journalists flew over the Spratly Islands in the hotly disputed South China Sea, a Chinese voice issued a stern command over the radio: “Leave immediately.”
AFP was one of several media outlets given the rare opportunity on Thursday to fly over some of the dozens of tiny islands and reefs where the Philippines, China and several other nations have competing claims.

Taiwan is running out of chicken eggs right now. Maybe the ROC soldier missed eating chicken eggs so much that he swam across to Xiamen to try out some 荷包蛋.

China should massively encourage this.

Hack into Taiwan's television networks (just like how they did last August), interupt their TV programming and announce to everyone on the rebel island that China has enough chicken eggs to alleviate everyone's woes. Extra 5 Xi-Bucks award for anyone who lands in China onboard the latest ROCAF F-16V.
(1 Xi-Buck = 1 million RMB)

You want the pilot to hand over an F-16V in exchange for some poached eggs?

And now we know the true reason the RoCAF no longer comes out to play when the PLAAF train all over their ADIZ. They are afraid some of their fighters might just follow the PLAAF back to their base like lost puppies if the PLAAF pilots whip out some tea eggs to wave in front of their RoCAF counterparts.

Does 40% on +$1 million make sense? Maybe it’s just me but that seems rather like a low threshold given inflation and specifically property value. I guess certains retirees and seniors are gonna get a heart attack looking at their tax payments lol.

In American real estate tax law, it's relatively easy to lower or even defer paying capital gains taxes for the life of the individual. When it comes time to transfer that wealth to the next generation, there are ways to get out of paying most of those taxes. It's why investing in American real estate is often a core part of a portfolio among wealthy Americans and non-Americans. For stocks, there are specific services to take advantage of existing law to avoid or at least reduce capital gains and income taxes.
