India leads the 2023 Border-Gavaskar Test series between India and Australia 2-1. Australia is currently 255-4 at the end of the Day 1 of the fourth and final Test.
I know some of these words.

Seriously though, I don't watch enough test cricket (or rather, I don't watch cricket at all) to know whether losing 4 wickets for 255 runs in one day (I assume it's still 1st innings) in a test match is a good result or not.

If anything, I am surprised people are willing to sit in some crappy, exposed seat for 5 whole-ass days to watch it in person.

Oof, for comparison 2023 budget is 6.2 trillion.
He will cut oil subsidies and increase taxes on the rich for more investment in healthcare and education etc...
But I am skeptical because all of the previous US Govt spendings since 2008 just made the rich richer and the problem is they spend too much. Government spending is like 35% of the US economy at this point. That is a lot.

government.

The petition says that the 59-year-old actor’s latest remarks over protests in Hong Kong in 2019 “violate the spirit of freedom of speech”.

Hong Kong activist Tong Wai-hung, who set up the petition, also claims that the Academy’s invitation to Yen shows “contempt for the people of Hong Kong” and his presence will “damage the image and reputation of the film industry”.
HK cockroaches and HK pretenders petitioning the Oscars to cancel Donnie Yen.

Hey Tong Wai-hung, you must be feeling like a real freedumb warrior don't you? Smearing a HK idol who is also a true patriot to his country. Your kind can only beat up old men, women, and helpless people. Why don't you challenge Donnie Yen to a one-on-one like a real man? Show us, the superiority of your freedumb over a see-see-pee supporter!

There’s a big Girl Scout cookie shortage, and the group is frustrated with its main baker.

  • The Girl Scouts are frustrated over production problems at their main baking partner, Little Brownie Bakers, which is owned by Italian confection maker Ferrero.
  • The baker has struggled to keep pace with cookie demand due to supply chain issues, labor shortages and weather-related power outages.
  • The inventory woes have led to sagging sales for local Girl Scout troops.

OMG this is horrible. You know the economy is bad when even the scout girls can't get their cookies.
LOL!
Little Brownie Bakers, or LBB, notified the Girl Scouts on Monday morning that weather-induced power outages at their Louisville, Kentucky, factory, halted cookie production for the weekend of March 5, setting inventory even further back.
Weather-induced power outages in Kentucky in 2023? Is it the snow? Is it the rain? Is it the wind? Has the US power infrastructure fallen to 3rd-world standards?

Little Brownie Bakers has also said that mechanical issues have gotten in the way of production of Samoas, the popular caramel-coconut cookie. This is the third year in a row that the baker has struggled to keep up with cookie production, said the person, who is not permitted to speak about the matter publicly.
Mechanical issues? The conveyor system don't work? Must be waiting for parts from the EU, who might have sourced components from China. Good luck with your Decouple from China project.

Exclusive: Canada will not force Chinese state investors to divest stakes in Teck, First Quantum

TORONTO, March 8 (Reuters) - Canada will not force Chinese state-investors in three of its large mining companies to divest stakes, as such a move would create policy uncertainty, the natural resources minister told Reuters.

In November, Canada had

to sell their stakes in Toronto-listed lithium explorers following a national security review, drawing criticism from the mining industry and raising questions about the future of other Chinese investments in the Canadian mining sector.

Exclusive: Chinese firms pull out of Canadian miners despite report of Ottawa changing stance
One of the three Chinese mining companies that were asked by the Canadian government to sell their stakes in Toronto-listed lithium companies told the Global Times on Thursday that it has already sold its stake, while another said it was preparing to unload its stake as well. Both companies said they would use caution in future investment in Canada given the risks.
While the Canadian minister has made some positive remarks, it is still far from enough, He Weiwen, an executive council member of the China Society for World Trade Organization Studies, told the Global Times on Thursday. He urged the Canadian side to provide transparent, reliable, fair and law-based national treatment and a negative list for international investors.
Trudeau: Did we create enough conditions?
Xi: No.

BBC News - One man, two cups: Is President Xi’s double tea a power move?
Please, Log in or Register to view URLs content!

How fucking ridiculous can BBC get?!?!

I guess I will have to put two cups on my desk at work to project my power lol.
Of course. Remember how the dumping of tea into the Boston Harbor kickstarted the American Revolutionary War? Perhaps the Brits have gotten more alertful (read: sensitive) regarding how tea is handled elsewhere.

Therefore, it is not surprising that the BBC has gone way past the edge to scrutinize the grand plan behind Xi Jinping having two teacups while everyone else only has one. Who knows if two teacups signal Xi's intention of hoarding all those precious British tea by invading London in 2024?
