So Malaysia's territorial claim on Sabah is a result of British colonialism. The Sulu Sultanate's claim on Sabah does predate the Malaysian claim. So their claim is stronger.
Hello brother, yes you're correct about the British BUT the premise of my statement is that the US didn't support our claimed being a former colony and rightful claimant. So in essence the US support gave birth to Malaysia and this is why the Malaysian will always support the US against any adversary.
But there is a problem: the Sulu Sultanate does not exist today. So how exactly did the Philippines inherited the territorial claims of the Sulu Sultanate? I am not familiar with Filipino history. So I have to ask this question to you, @ansy1968.
Thru to Sultan of Sulu heirs and his descendant which an Arbitration in Paris recognized.

Russian government is infiltrated by the CIA at the highest level, this is not an exaggeration or alarmist talk, the Communist Party and its spy agencies also used be riddled with CIA spies until CIA's informants are compromised in 2010 as well as Xi's purges.

I strongly suspect the eradication of CIA informants is what prompted Obama's pivot to Asia, as the United States realises that it does not have as strong of an influence over China as they thought. And that China, do in fact have an independent will and do not tolerate foreign agents among its ranks.

So in essence, its the US alliance with the UK that allowed Sabah to be incorporated into Malaysia, a British client state. So because of that, only Malaysia could be formed. Well I don't know, I just think that Malaysia would have been formed anyway without Sabah, because the British would have insisted on that.

Nevertheless, this is still a case of colonial powers drawing up the maps and dividing regions into neo-colonies for them to exploit later. This is a recipe for disputes and conflicts.

This is problematic. Because first, this arbitration was done by another colonial power, but also with little recognition around the world. Second, we must be aware that the Philippines too, just like Malaysia was put on the map by colonial powers. That means that the historical claim of the PH's on Sabah is just as weak as Malaysia's. If the PH can indeed claim Sabah due to its inheritance from the former Sulu Sultanate. Then this is gonna open a can of worms for the PH.

If the PH accepts this Arbitration in Paris that recognizes the PH's inheritance of Sulu Sultanate territory. Then due to this 'precedence' in the court of law, the PH must recognize Chinese inheritance over the Spratly Islands. Because modern China (PRC and ROC) have inherited the Spratly Islands from the Yuan, Ming, or Qing Dynasties. The earliest recorded claim of ownership was from the Yuan Dynasty.

The SCS is a minefield of disputes. Sometimes it is best to leave things as it is than to provoke another dispute.

What are the chances that said Russian sources are just Medvedev and Lavrov running their mouths on twitter about new types of support coming?

Anyhow with Russians now scoring a big win in Artemovsk, they have shown to some extent that going in with Chinese drones and artillery is not needed. If there were such considerations in the past months, the ability of Russia to keep finding success on the battlefield and maintaining a favorable kill ratio ensures that Russia still has plenty leverage in its relationship with China.

There are multiple possibilities.
  1. US is just lying
  2. Russia deliberately leaked the news so that it looks like China is fully siding with it, to increase its leverage
  3. Russia is just CIA infested

Usually I would say its the 1, but in the past year, US media has multiple times revealed inside Russian info which probably means that the 3 is more possible. Everytime there was a leak it was never from China's side, it was always coming from "unnamed Russian sources close to the handling of x matter"

While I am sure Russia is infested with western agents since they lack the capabilities to deal with it. Especially on the technological side. However, why do you trust the western media on everything when it come to Russia?

Putin was suppose to die from serious illness. Russia was going to run out of missiles by last summer. Lavrov was going to be sacked for failing. Trump was a supposed Russian agent. A “Russian missile” was fired into Poland.
