When Iran blocked the Strait to charge, Trump said to himself, “Why didn’t I think of that?” This should start a war. Given that Trump seems to have allowed Chinese flagged ships to transit, is he just bluffing? I wished he’d try for the world opinion to get worse than it is now.

This is the type of imperialistic monster that’s under the surface of the West. It’s a joke that Europe categorizes Trump along with Putin and Xi when Trump is just doing what the Western world has historically done. The EU demanding China hand over its leading technology over them and get nothing in return isn’t like what Trump is doing. They act like it’s owed to them like in some tribute to how wonderful they are for existing. Why can’t they can’t do like what they did before? When push comes to shove, the rest of the world can strike back this time. It won’t be a safe place for them anywhere in the world and they know that.

What more to open that Pandora’s Box than to start charging for passage half way around the world in a place where they have no claim in the first place? When is the US going to demand a tax on the world for just existing?

Trump backs Russia sanctions package spearheaded by Graham

President Donald Trump will support the passage of a bipartisan Russia sanctions package that was spearheaded by the late Sen. Lindsey Graham, a White House official told CNN on Monday.

The endorsement comes days after Graham’s unexpected death, likely further smoothing the path for a bill that the South Carolina senator spent years working to push across the finish line.

Graham and Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal previously indicated the administration was prepared to back the package, saying Friday that they reached an agreement following extensive negotiations. Yet it was unclear at the time whether Trump would directly support the bill, as the president had repeatedly panned the legislation and pushed for more direct discretion on imposing sanctions.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune earlier on Monday said the White House had been working closely with Graham on the measure, telling CNN that he has hopeful.

“It’ll take Democrats and Republicans here in the Senate to do that, but I’m hopeful we can make it happen,” he said.

Thune said that in Graham’s last days, the sanctions package was “the thing that he cared the most about in terms of an accomplishment, and it would certainly be an incredible legacy for him.”

In a separate interview, Blumenthal told CNN that he planned to speak with Thune on Monday afternoon about the final preparations and timing for the bill’s passage, including finding a new Republican to take Graham’s place as its lead sponsor.

The sanctions package would clear the way for Trump to impose heavy tariffs on imports from nations that buy Russian oil, uranium and natural gas, in an effort to further weaken Moscow amid its war with Ukraine.

“It should be seen as a fitting tribute to Sen. Graham to do it quickly in his memory,” Blumenthal said. “It’s exactly what we were talking about when I last spoke to him over the weekend.”

Darline Graham Nordone was formally chosen by South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster on Monday, who introduced her as Graham's "darling little sister" who would "finish his work for him now".

Graham and his sister lost their parents with both their mother and father dying within 15 months of each other.

Graham was 22 at the time, and his sister was 13. She lived with family members, maintaining a close relationship with Graham as he studied law and served in the Air Force.

"He's kind of like a brother, a father and a mother rolled into one," Nordone, a mother of two who works helping people with disabilities find jobs, told the New York Times in 2015.

Graham later adopted her, telling journalists it was so that she would receive his military benefits should anything happen to him.

She has been at his side throughout his political career. Graham even suggested previously that she would serve as his first lady if he were elected president.
