Is it surprising? Indians only care about the headlines that'll they're replacing China and they'll go as far as to pay Westerners in high positions to just say India is a better place than actually living up to it.
Chinese talk less do more, Indian Talk more do less - The flaw of democracy is politicians allows to promise shits without being held accountable, and majority vote for candidates that seems benefited for them not for the country. That's why you can see many good talkers become prominent figures in western worlds.

Taiwan is set to pass a new law criminalising “spreading rumours or disinformation during wartime” as the island readies for a possible attack from China.

Taiwan has long been concerned over Chinese efforts to spread misinformation. During the island’s elections, Beijing was accused of using social media to mock the unpreparedness of Taiwan’s troops, including circulating civilian drone footage of the island’s military outpost in an attempt to reveal its vulnerabilities.

Basically, only the US is allowed to spread lies, propaganda, and rumors. But any company that isn't 100% control by the US would be banned or forced sold. Sadly, there are still many wannabes buying the woke liberal international order.

Apparently China is a country of dancing in public and child self-immolation/suffocation

Well I mean:
Here we see Ukrainian AD using a starstreak missile ($120k USD) against a Shahed-136 ($20k USD). That burn rate may not be sustainable even with NATO's much greater GDP if this keeps up.
Kinda depends on the value of the Shahed's ultimate target. If the value of the target is equal to $100K, then it's breaking even.

"Responding to Hannah-Jones’s criticism of the idea of American exceptionalism on Twitter, Xi Van Fleet, who lived through Mao’s China only to find success in America, argued that her experience in the U.S. militates against the argument that America is irrevocably tainted by its participation in slavery."

Xi Van Fleet. Wow, I never would have guessed /S

Nothing to do with democracy as India is barely a democracy. But just basic difference in attitude and culture. India needs shut up and put in the work. We will see if Apple can shift 50% of its iPhone production to India as stated in that article.

I don;t know. She was like 4 years old during the cultural revolution, it is a bit much calling youself a survivor (which she does in other interviews). Thought they mostly targeting Mao's rivials.
