"Don't you Nancy Pelosi dare to visit Taiwan without our permission."

"Okay, we landed in Taiwan so what will you do in return?"

"Nothing. Don't you dare to visit Taiwan."

China says "Don't you dare to supply weapons to Taiwan." "Don't you dare to deploy troops in Taiwan."

So what will China do? So far, China has done nothing but bitching.
China took what was supposed to be a flitting situation and turned it into an opportunity to normalize sustained military activity near Taiwan for Pelosi's visit. When the US found out, Pelosi said, "We can't allow China to use this as an excuse to normalize military excursions around Taiwan." And then China kept doing it and they never mentioned that again. It reminds me of Rex Tillerson saying that the US can't allow China to have access to the man-made islands in the SCS. Then China kept going and building and he shut up. The US quickly exhausted all its options after losing the trade war then started the doomed tech war and since then, they've done nothing but superficial trolling to make China angry as China makes real progress. And sometimes, even that backfires when China flips the script on them turning even their harmless trolling into an opportunity to advance China's interests.

Westerners put huge emphasis on superficial things like "looking tough", etc., i.e. "face". Maybe this is the reason why they value a small propaganda victory (that everyone already forgot about) over normalizing military drills around Taiwan and casually crossing the median line.

Very good article. Just quoting part of the article to illustrate the kind of Chinese who is pro-Ukraine today.

  1. 朴素同情乌克兰人民的遭遇,感情泛滥(pointless compassionate).the same kind of people who advocated importing refugees some years ago.
  2. 由于历史恩怨看不惯当下中俄战略伙伴关系, "suicidal nationalist". The one prefers to die for yesterday than live for today.
  3. 由于俄乌冲突影响自身工作生活,单纯对俄罗斯或普京不满,selfish people who is willing to sell their mother for profit.
  4. 以及一些网络“1450”等等。True 1450
Category 1, 2 and 3 are primarily self brainwashed by western or Taiwan media, they are effectively doing the same job as 1450, therefore differentiating them from 4 is kind of redundant IMO.
Bad translation. Category 3 is "self-interest affected by the war" and this is not propaganda/brainwash related cause.

Who's that person you referenced and what did you mean by that comment if you don't me asking
Non mainstream geopolitical commentator, the more funnier and meme aware person of "the Duran" duo.

He is based in Cypress and uploads daily updates of around 15~40 min summarising daily geopolitical or diplomatic events from a more Russian viewpoint. I don't always agree with their domestic political commentary, but their geopolitical commentary is a order above what you can get from mainstream media, The duo also does 2~5 hours long form podcasts with guests.

The best response is just to grow and wait. There is no rush. When the hammer drops, we can all rebuild the world simultaneously anyways.

The equation has changed, between the straits.

I find it is still kind of retarded.

Before, it was all about politics, status quo, deep green, economic links, blah blah blah.

Since Pelosi's visit, the military part of this equation, became more prominent. The political and economic parts of the equation is still there, but the military part is different now.

This is the first time between CCP and KMT, that CCP has the big advantage in naval warfare and air warfare and that is being actively placed into the equation.

DPP powerless to change this equation, or take things back to a simpler age.

The additional of more American advisors, does not alter the balance of this equation one bit either.

In fact, if history is any guide, once the American advisors show up, that is the beginning of the end, lol.

:D
