US is going to more than quadruple the number of troops it has in Taiwan
This makes my blood boil. U.S. is making a mockery out of China's territorial integrity and sovereignty. Literally the same playbook they used in Ukraine. Poke and provoke until China decides to take things into its own hands (hopefully it will) and then we'll be hearing about "cHiNa'S bRutal aNd uNprOvOkEd WaR oF aGGrESsioN".

A hegemon bully is gonna bully.

Just remember what's making the US do what it does, is because of insecurity and fear of China (whether it's from the balloon incident, to China's growing military power).

Phew! War in Asia is coming courtesy of the blob.

China has been driving a hard bargain with Russian and Iranian oil & gas only to resell them to Europe at a huge profit.

I hope the Russians will return the favor and charge a premium for her commodities when the Malacca Strait gets blocked.

Canada is really trying to ramp up the China Threat hysteria. What's the Canadian strategy vis-à-vis China other than hitching it's entire defense posture to their big brother/master U.S. I don't see any meaningful debate and real questions ask to it's people in terms of the real sacrifice in terms of lives and treasures if the country want to commit an adversarial role against China.

I don't see any calls for massive troop build up by way of calling it's people to serve, sign up for the military in whatever capacity. Building up key industries in preparations for the worst case scenario in terms of industrial production. What I see in Canada from the politicians and peoples are ignorant and arrogant howling, chest thumping on social media sites, other than that, zero total commitment from the anti-China believers. Which suggest a total underestimation, gross violation and abandonment of government and business leaders responsibility to properly inform, educate the people in what the actual cost of war with China brings all in the name of protecting Taiwan which according to the UN is an inalienable sovereign part of China. If they really and truly believe in the rhetoric and scheme of "Freedom and Democracy" I would want to at least see any semblance or modicum of all societal commitment from the government and people. I say LOL on that front.

What the country's political leaders of all stripes are doing are political grandstanding, posturing dumbing down their even more ignorant and idiotic people what at stakes if Canada commits itself in war against a country halfway around the world.

Don't worry, have some confidence in PLA. Of all the things that could cause trouble during AR some US army grunts are going to be near the bottom of that list. If anything those guys would make fine hostages for trading after the act.

Most likely though the yanks won't give PLA the pleasure, they will probably re-enact "Fist of Saigon" at first opportunity once they get wind of impending attack.

The only strategy that Canada have is to please the US with who it have the majority of his trading, share his only border and can invade the entirety of the country in a blink of the eyes. Our government and news networks are mostly being a tools used by the US for their own goods.

We are following what US does more or less.

In business news, it looks like APPLE is going to involve itself in AR business teaming up with yet another commie company to help them build this very expensive piece of hardware. Why couldn't they build this thing in India? I thought Apple is decoupling from China?

Apple to team up with Chinese supplier on AR devices
Apple Inc. will reportedly team up with China's tech manufacturing company, Luxshare, to develop augmented reality (AR) gadgets, Nikkei Asia wrote on Thursday quoting people familiar with the matter.

"Apple's first generation of AR devices will be extremely expensive, and really only can attract those passionate tech geeks or premium customers," sources told Nikkei Asia. "But Apple hopes to push the price down in the second generation of devices, which is in parallel development, to a more affordable price, like a high-end Mac computer, and hopes to attract a bigger user base," they added.

Namely, Luxshare has aquired the Shanghai-based AR development team previously owned by Taiwan's Pegatron, iPhone maker's first supplier for virtual reality gadgets.
