US is still going on about lethal aid to Russia.

Personally I think it would be silly not to have that card in your hand, particularly on the eve of that peace plan. Wang Yi might be in Moscow to hash out the final details to make sure those aid can reach the front smoothly. Notice how many meeting Wang Yi is having there and how little we know of what was actually talked about. Putin even used his long table side ways with Wang Yi.

Guanqi gang had a good point: if lethal aid gets the go ahead the most obvious sign we will see is all pro-Ukraine voices on Chinese internet instantly silenced. Be on the watch out for this.
Speaking of which - Apart from Putin and Lavrov, Wang Yi also met with the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russia Nikolai Patrushev in Moscow.

Both parties discussed the current international strategic situation and expressed their readiness to jointly practice true multilateralism, resist all forms of unilateral intimidation, promote the democratization of international relations and a multipolar world.

During the conversation, an agreement was reached to continue strengthening cooperation in multilateral formats and making more efforts to improve global governance.

Both sides stressed the need to resolutely maintain peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region and opposed the Cold War mentality, as well as bloc and ideological confrontation. In conclusion, Wang Yi and Patrushev exchanged views on the Ukrainian issue.

Interestingly, according to Reuters, Moscow said Wang Yi and Lavrov did not discuss about the supposed Chinese peace proposal for Ukraine.

The so-called peace plan is like if China discovered the cure to cancer. It could be the best most fair peace plan ever. The West would be working against it because they wouldn't be getting the credit. You think the West would give China that kind of stature?

Of course, but how would it look to the Global South if the west turn down an earnest peace proposal? Who's the superpower actually working towards peace?

From the article
The warning in Munich followed a number of private appeals to China. It was coordinated among the Western allies in the hope that it would stop Beijing from taking the irrevocable step of starting to supply weapons, the officials said.

Did they use the worst negotiators in the western world?

“First we’re going to blame you for interfering in elections, then we’re going to say you’re spying on us all time using cell phone equipment, next we sanction your companies and ban exports of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, finally we’re going to blame you for flying a balloon and some UFO stuff. All you have to do is not sell weapons to Russia!”

“… okay… what do we get then?”

“What? You want something in return?? Our gratitude is not enough? The nerve!”

That's not enough. All you have to do is look at the countries and people that have no history with China but they hate China. They hate China because they believe the West's narrative on China. The US and West go to war all the time yet China is looked upon as the military aggressor. If the West goes against China's proposal, is China going to go out of their way to defend it as much as the West will attack it? Beijing doesn't do that when the US vilifies China. Chinese responses to things sound so measured and canned because they're mindful they have to come across as neutral as possible.
