The only strategy that Canada have is to please the US with who it have the majority of his trading, share his only border and can invade the entirety of the country in a blink of the eyes. Our government and news networks are mostly being a tools used by the US for their own goods.

We are following what US does more or less.
After all Canada is the 51st state of the USA, UK is 52nd, and Australia is 53rd.

My sense of Taiwan, is that lately DPP and Tsai are not itching for war or making a move towards independence.

All it seems they are doing the DPP, is trying to ensure the Americans have their back.

So to curry favour with the Americans, they do what the Americans want them to do, except for declaring independence.

The DPP is just ass kissing the Americans.

That is why I feel this Tsai person is a no good idiot. Taiwan used to have a bigger profile, it seemed important. Now Taiwan is just merely an American ass kisser.

Taiwan people aren't stupid. When they see Tsai praise Biden's dead dog, and now more displays of affection with the ass kissing, when the PLAN moves their assets closer and closer, Taiwan people probably will not approve of the position the island finds itself in.

Actively promoting the divestment of TSMC to America, what kind of gesture is that?

Let's see if people of Taiwan remember all of that for their next vote.

:oops::D

A few weeks ago I received an email from a person that works for NATO in one of its member nations. They told me that NATO was careful to monitor the public sentiment among its member states. Here's what they wrote (word for word, including emphasis): "I know from my job (military) that Roumanians, Moldovans, Bulgarians, Hungarians, Slovakians, Cypriots and all the Balkans are circa 3 out of 4 and above with Russia. Austrians, Italians, Czechs, Spaniards and French around 2 out of 3."

Canada is really trying to ramp up the China Threat hysteria. What's the Canadian strategy vis-à-vis China other than hitching it's entire defense posture to their big brother/master U.S. I don't see any meaningful debate and real questions ask to it's people in terms of the real sacrifice in terms of lives and treasures if the country want to commit an adversarial role against China.

Yeah, I noticed that, all of that, too.

I don't bother following the news, because it is too boring. Duller than economics, lol.

This is what I think is happening.

The spy agency is taking over this China file for the government.

There is a vacuum there, so the spy agency fills it.

All these reports, all from the spy agency, they all seem to be planted stories.

Not necessarily fake, but exaggerated for political effect. No one is going to object, because no one cares, and that lone voice does not want to appear to be a China friend.

Hence, the Canadian spy agency will get their way, there will be a more confrontational approach by the Canadian government, and the spy agency will see a budget increase for that. That's Canada. It is not about China, it is more about how much can they obtain from the public purse.

That, is what bothers me.

Very interesting divide. Looks like the ancient Catholic (C), Orthodox (O) and Protestant (P) divide is flaring up again. Religion and ethnicity has always divided Europeans.

Bulgaria: O
Hungary: C

Austria: C

According to Der Spiegel, China is preparing to send drones as well as parts for Russia's fighter jets!
According to information obtained by DER SPIEGEL, companies under the control of China's People's Liberation Army had planned to deliver replacement parts for Russia's SU-27 fighter jets and other models.
Why would they need parts for Su-27 though? VKS isn't using their flankers that heavily and surely they could produce those parts domestically. Unless "parts" actually mean "FAB-500L"?

This pretty much affirms that east Palestine is a Chernobyl tier event that’s gonna have downstream ripple effects in future generations which the performative religious puritanical based culture of the anglos cannot allow to be discovered.
I’m talking a Chernobyl tier red zone with malformed babies being born in the vicinity of Ohio with deformed limbs and lacking eyes, where ppl won’t be able to live in the red zone for decades
