I don't think any Russian leaders of importance that have heads so far inside their asses exist anymore, not after the war started.
There used to be these people, and one must guess that at least some of them are serving the west to deliberately sabotage the ties and Russia's only hope, they're really of the same stock as the "whites" who stooped to the most horrific and brutal of measures during the Russian revolution which would make even Japanazis and SS soldiers balk, just to preserve their own privilege at the expense of everyone else.

In past joint military exercises, Russian forces has fought in joint commands with the smaller Chinese forces acting as command formation. Similarly, during joint maritime patrol, it is more often than not clearly visible which one is the command and information center of the formation.
Pro west oligarch use arguments such as Russian indigenization, false racist tropes, misinformation and the similar to downplay the benefits of Chinese support, but now thanks to the war and the West's own reaction, they have no wealth, no power and no support.
