Scott Gottlieb: "We..know..scientists at..Wuhan Institute were performing research on coronaviruses by infecting animals whose immune systems had been engineered to resemble..humans—a line of research that could have helped..virus adapt to infect people."

They're now spreading rumor that corona virus is a Chinese virus , it's now not a conspiracy but west is doing everything to create negative image of china but sadly people outside of china still believe that virus came from china.
It's just a book review. Anyone can write a book. Similar books were published before. None of those provided concrete evidences and nobody mentions them anymore. I doubt this one is an exception. These books are not in the same league of research papers that argue for the natural origin of COVID-19. Even NYT has to admit that existing researches point to a zoonotic origin. Notice that while the intermediate host was probably from the Wuhan wet market, the original host is still unknown. Then again, the search for the original host of SARS-CoV took more than a decade.

This guy is normally quite against China but this is true. If India doesn't play this down, this is pretty much the end of Indian-German friendly engagement. Somebody should tell European politicians that you don't get people to cooperate by messing with issues they deem sensitive.
Compared to China, India is not that important for Germany. Germany knows very well which side of their bread is buttered.

The first known samples of COVID19 virus were found in Spainish and Italian groundwater during early autumn 2019.

So unless one believes in an insane conspiracy theory where China first knew about the virus, kept it secret and planted the virus into these 2 countries and only then months later went public about it in Wuhan, the chances that it actually came from anywhere in China or even Asia are microscopic.

To Wuhan there came during the Army games 2019 certain American soldiers who were sick with an unknown flu or pneumonia, checked into the hospital close to a farmer's market, where old people like to hang out closely together, eat food side by side etc more or less making it a prime ground for super spreader events.

Of course, these American soldiers may not have been sick in Covid, there is no evidence that they had COVID19 in particular, it could be any random pneumonia. We don't know, the US government could have sent serum over immediately for research purposes, this would have been useful to Chinese scientists, but the US regime refused. So we will likely never know what those soldiers were sick with.

Ok, but these are not real Chinese Police stationed in foreign countries. They are local Chinese community workers assisting administrative (paper) works for oversea Chinese citizens who are not able to travel back to China during pandemic.

Here is the details in Chinese.

Example, a Chinese citizen living in Sweden whose Chinese driving license is to expire, due to pandemic he can not travel back to China to extend his driving license, so he called "oversea 110" which is back in Fuzhou, get things done over video chat, get his new paper sent to his home in China then forwarded to Sweden. There is no Chinese officer abroad. The so-called "oversea" station is made up of Chinese local residents who serves as an information desk.

Honestly, it is stupid to put up such misleading signs, and I blame both the Fuzhou police department and the local Chinese. My original post was a joke about the western hysteria, but now it seems that some Chinese are responsible for that hysteria.:(

Sounds like a typical Clan Association (会馆) like the kinds we have in South East Asia which are also organised along regional/dialect lines. Clan associations focus on helping immigrants find their footing in foreign lands and maintain links with home.

They should have just called it as such ...

The scary part is that the article is implying that the 33 billion is spent, with the pictures of construction to prove it. Yet there is no train, and it’s not going anywhere. So all that money can be spent with minimal accountability.

You think that’s bad. Just look at the estimate for the date of completion.

The rail authority said it has accelerated the pace of construction on the starter system, but at the current spending rate of $1.8 million a day, according to projections widely used by engineers and project managers, the train could not be completed in this century.
Unless rail authority managers can improve cost controls and find significant new sources of funding, they said, the project is likely to grind to a halt in future decades.

On the bright side, the workers will basically have a lifetime of employment. Now if only they can shut the hell up about meh Gyna construction GDP.

Pew Research recently showed American allies viewed China very unfavorably.

A Hungarian organization also polled Hungarian opinion on China (archived from American propaganda

). Their results are quite different.

The Hungarian pollster's question is slanted negatively against China. Nevertheless, this Hungarian pollster finds China +25% compared with Pew.

Here's Pew's crisp graphic based on Hungarian pollster results.

P.S. Pew's numbers on China differ substantially from other pollsters elsewhere too.
