Some Surprise is there like both india & even Ukraine abstinened ( seems like zelensky isn't entirely a puppet of USA , china neutrality on ukrain pays off , india might be pissed off with USA because even USA is moving closer to pak).
The Human Right subjects brought up in UN today is primarily an excuse for interfering domestic matter by foreign powers, not really about human right. Therefor countries cast their votes by projecting the matter on themselves. If India voted yes, it could expect Pakistan bringing up Kashmir and China voting yes. If Ukraine voted yes, it could expect Russia bringing up ethnic Russian issue in eastern Ukraine, and China voting yes.

You can see that the "yes" countries other than west are tiny countries heavily indebt to west, so tiny that they couldn't have more than one ethnic group.

Despite Somalia being part of BRI is still voted yes, china should look into it's BRI project and should not let everybody joins if they don't even understand sensitive issue of china and instead tries to leach on cash.
Somalia is a true failed state, China would not invest in Somalia in its current shape regardless BRI or Somalia's vote. It isn't an issue.

China having Russia, Saudi and Iran all in the pocket is unimaginable yet right on the cusp of occurring. Wow.

Yup. Agree completely. It is the fog of war.

It all started with the trade war started by President Trump, which morphed into the US government war against Huawei then into a semiconductor war because the Huawei war was not going as well as planned.

Seeing this rift between China and America, that sly fox Uncle Vladimir aligned Russia more closely with China. Culminating in a declaration of a no limits partnership at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. A few weeks later, Russia and Ukraine were at war.

The West in all their wisdom, decided to cripple Russia economically. Regardless of that ploy, from those actions, there is no doubt there is an energy crisis in Europe.

A few months later, seeing the higher oil prices, OPEC takes advantage of that, announces production cuts in tandem with Russia, which undermines America and Europe economically with higher energy costs and inflationary pressure. America reacts with anger.

What is the point?

Maybe there is two or three.

1. Every step of the way, seems like the Americans and its minions, made the wrong move.

2. The regions of the world, seems like no one will have the same relationship with the West from this point forward.
  • Russia and the West is basically broken
  • Middle East OPEC with these oil production cuts a big F U
  • China and America are at loggerheads over a lot of things
  • then China still has the BRI and RCEP going for it
Western influence and its global profile being diminished as we speak. The West is important, just not that important.

Suppose China and America can improve relations. That will not change anything for anyone else. The resentments run deep. ASEAN will not cast China aside for America. The West and Russia would still be at each others throat. OPEC needs the money, and they never liked the West anyways.

The world cannot go back to pre-Trump days no matter what. China could, but no one else wants to.

3. What should China do?

Words are silver. Silence is gold.

:)

LMFAO

Apparently someone in the Mandarin section of Radio Free Asia has lost his shit because Xi wasn't couped.

Yu Jie (this Hanjian fella) ...

... decides to write an RFA article, which can be concluded as him having his autistic and hysterical meltdown about how Xi still receives broad support from the Chinese people.

Translating his Tweet as saying:

Thank God that people like him got rid of themselves from China and the Chinese people.

This is the kind of person you'd love to beat the crap out of.

Looks like Osama Bin Laden got his wish after all.
I mean, in hindsight, maybe Al-Qaeda really had the last laugh. After all, United Stated fundamentally changed after 9-11, and not for the better.

Please legalize fentanyl too.
Okay, I know you are saying it ironically, but maybe that isn't such a bad idea after all. As Prohibition has shown, making shit illegal only drives them underground, and people can and will get their fix regardless. This is a public health issue, not a criminal one... unless the goal was to pack the prison with now-disenfranchised felons to begin with.

And here is my hot take of the day: if they feel so strongly about marijuana, maybe they should demonstrate that resolve by going straight-edge teetotal and abstain from all intoxicating things, including alcohol, tobacco, and caffine. After all, why should any of those mind-altering things get a pass?
