I mean, in hindsight, maybe Al-Qaeda really had the last laugh. After all, United Stated fundamentally changed after 9-11, and not for the better.

CNN only released a small section of the interview
No wonder why the US wanted to kill him so badly, he was spitting out truths.

I was wondering when al Qaeda would join in on the fun.

The scary part is that the world is starting to look like the Red Alert series.

Al Qaeda isn't a real organisation. Osama bin Laden was a CIA agent AKA Tim Osman. Even though he is supposed to be dead his name comes back whenever convinient, a bit like "Russian hackers" or "Chinese spies".

This latest revelation probably stems from some FBI-CIA turf war. FBI are pro Biden, the CIA are pro Trump. No doubt the FBI will find evidence Chinese spies were trying to undermine Biden somehow.

The goal is not only to damage those companies but also to discourage private companies of working with the military and government. They are targeting Xi military-civilian fusion policy.

it will be painful for Saudis to replace all US made fighter jets but if ever decoupling happen, China would love to supply J-16 and FC-31.

Saudis have F-15, EF, Tornado. Tornado will likely need replacement as its upgrades are not as extensive.
regardless what they need replace there preference will be for twin engine 5G fighter that can do strikes from high altitude and unlike most of other air forces they use there aircraft extensively so it need to be reliable for there conditions.
there could be change in thinking of getting fighter from other sources if they are experiencing too much inflation or parts shortages or quality not up to the mark in post covid world. you can see my posts earlier when they were asking French for satellite imagery back in 2009. so they were using airpower for long time and will have very realistic idea of each aircraft performance vs cost/benefit in high tempo condition not just there own air force but all the others they have assembled.
This 2012 Boeing video showing complete package in training/maintenance/combat search and rescue with role of AWACS. this video made before current upgrades to F-15 but clearly there is no rockets.

The OPEC oil production cut isn't surprising, I was waiting all summer for it to happen. Despite western "analysts" claiming the Arabs would be boosting production to help the west.

What surprised me what Americans throwing the toys out the pram about it. You'd think they at least anticipated it.

Resurrecting NOPEC is dangerous territory as the Saudis have already stated what their response would be.
Reuters article from three years ago, published on 5 April 2019:

Saudi Arabia threatens to ditch dollar oil trades to stop 'NOPEC'

This is interesting reading 3 years on. Many of the Gulf states have already started to switch away from the dollar anyway, so this Saudi threat has less teeth than it did in the past.

If the Saudis do dedollarise the likely American response will be seizing of Saudi assets held in America. They could easily do this by blaming human rights in Saudi Arabia not to mention the evidence they've been sitting on Saudi intelligence involvement in 9/11.

From the Arab/OPEC point of view there is no point in selling as much oil as possible right now. Any profits will just be seized like Russia and the Taliban. Just liquidate American bonds, investments in America and Europe while you still can. That should cover any shortfall in selling oil. As Russia has shown it's possible to make more money selling less, at least for the short term.
