European energy firms rack up debt to cover soaring costs – Bloomberg

Their liabilities have reportedly reached over $1.7 trillion

The firms’ overall debt has jumped by more than 50% since the start of the pandemic in early 2020, and now stands at €1.7 trillion ($1.7 trillion), the publication adds.

Earlier this month one of Germany’s largest energy supply companies, Uniper, asked for a government bailout, citing “extreme financial pressure” caused by reduced Russian natural gas deliveries. The company may need as much as €9 billion to stay afloat, Bloomberg says, adding that Czech power firm CEZ CP is also seeking help of up to €3 billion.

Liz Truss is going to be the next UK PM according to betting markets. On one hand, she's going to be performatively more hawkish on China. On the other, she's genuinely really dumb and will make the UK look bad.

The China hawks tend to stab themselves with their own swords with one hand while throwing slaps at China.

Man, England is going through a pretty severe issue with the heatwave going through that country. Their trains are shut down due to the steel track being deemed dangerous to be used since it's not equipped to handle such high temperature. Apparently, it'll cost a lot of money to refit the train track and yet this idiots would rather spend their dwindling money into Ukraine lol

Is China's train tracks equipped to handle such high degree temperature?

The west can't tolerate these heat waves, that's why their new solution to counter the heat is to cause a nuclear winter by provoking China over Taiwan.

Just gonna take a guess but it probably is more equipped for higher temps since China tends to experience heat a lot more than Britain which is usually cooler.

Now on other UK news, an RAF airbase had their runway melted due to the heat.

The UK’s Royal Air Force had to divert flights from an air base due to extreme temperatures, the Ministry of Defence has said

Sky News reported that flights in and out of the base have been halted because the "runway has melted" in the scorching heat.

According to the outlet, another UK airfield had already experienced similar issues earlier this month, with the Cranwell airbase suspending flights after the situation at the flight line — the area where aircraft are serviced — became too dangerous. "Our aircraft flight line has melted in the heat, so all flying at Cranwell has been stopped," a Sky News source confirmed.
