What's the motivation for the attack
I think they were targetting Chinese nationals specifically. They did their "homework", studied the route and killed them.

If you watch the video you will understand, no way it was a random attack.

As for their actual motivation, dunno. From what I remember, India has been linked with them. Expect them (+ West) to target Chinese nationals to stop/delay CPEC.

But my conspiratorial mind is thinking that CIA or whomever is trying to foster the air of instability in this part of Pakistan to create friction/mistrust between Pakistan and China. And for China to be forced to send their own military personnel into Pakistan which would provoke a backlash from some of the hardcore elements within Pakistan that's probably been induced, propagandized that China is interested in occupying their land.

Most likely under orders by external forces to foster distrust between China and Pakistan. I wonder honestly whether their own military let this happened, seems like a massive failure of security intelligence knowing previous terrorist attacks target Chinese nationals or infrastructure projects.

Maybe China should consider divesting into the other -stan countries to build their silk road, I'm sorry to offend any Pakistani users here, but I don't see any stable future for Pakistan but also India. Climate change is accelerating, and the two aforementioned region are going to be the hardest hit by it in the world, India just had their hottest temperature on record just days ago.

Why doesn't china fight fire with fire? If it's India then fund Kashmir, if it's US then fund drug cartels in Mexico to affect their borders. Is it lack of ability in China's part of lack of will?

If it was a suicide bomber in a university, I'm not sure what you can do to prevent that. Have airport style checks for everyone entering and leaving the campus?

I do think Pakistan needs to sort out its security situation, no point in blaming Indians or Americans if terrorists can move so freely in your country. Its the 21st century and terrorists should not be able to operate so easily.
