The reason is IK wanted to renegotiate signed CPEC projects with China. Xi told him to pound sound and then IK held CPEC projects hostage in order to force China to renegotiate. China simply waited and then IK realised that he couldnt get a renegotiation from China.
He was too inexperienced. He didn't understand why China couldn't renegotiate these contracts. Imagine if Xi backed down and then everyone from BRI countries were emboldened to follow IK's tactics and do the same..
This is why I said not to over-simplify things and get too emotional.
IK did make mistakes both in domestic affairs and external relations (with both US
and China.) CPEC progress was slower than expected. China issued formal statements to this effect during IK's tenure. Like I said, the opponents of IK also have genuine grievances.
The people claiming the Army has been involved in a coup against IK in support of the US is just crap. Not even IK said that. What PTI said is that the US hates IK and doesn't want him to be PM. (And the PTI will still use this in their narrative.)
Somehow, people freaked out and thought that means Pakistan is going to re-align with the US against China, which makes
zero sense. That's not even an option. The vast majority of Pakistani military platforms are Chinese, and even our C4I is dependent on Chinese SATINT and BeiDou sattelites. If the Pak military had any intention of 're-alignment' we wouldn't have spent billions buying S-20 subs, J-10Cs and VT-4 tanks, all of which happened recently. Besides that, the idea that the US and Pakistan will suddenly trust each other because IK got de-seated is hilarious. Even without IK, the US is not going to trust the Pakistani 'deep state' and vice versa.
IK got de-seated because of mistakes he made + foreign pressure. The Army stopped supporting him because of the mistakes, not because of foreign pressure. But with all of that said, this doesn't mean the Army is going to support PDM either. I think are actually trying to be 'neutral' right now, and see which side gets the most public support. Personally, I think Imran Khan and PTI is still better than the PDM crooks. Which is why I hope IK learns from his mistakes and makes a comeback. And if he learns, the Army will support him again.
The rest is all domestic political drama. What is now clear to everyone is how much support you can get in Pakistan by merely mentioning the words "US conspiracy" lolz. Millions come out on the streets in 5 minutes against the US. That itself is a perfect example of why there is zero trust between Pakistan and the US. The Pakistani public really does not like the US, that much is very clear.
