Could you recommend some good Chinese web novels to read? I need to improve my Chinese vocabulary a little more.
Eh, depends a lot on ones taste (afterall I might like a novel, but you might not).

But eh some general recommendations I can give to you and others could be like:

修仙:(凡人流)叩问仙道(ongoing),凡人修仙传(there's anime for this one), 问道红尘(harem, yes that harem),我师兄实在太稳健了(I rather like this one),飞剑问道(this author is famous, 我吃西红/I eat tomatoes I think the english translation usually is, personally a bit mixed on his works),大乖期才有逆袭系统(ongoing)

Others:不科学御兽(ongoing, I personally rather like this one)

Yes it's mostly 修仙, I know, I do read some other categories but not sure if you guys would like it (and I read a lot more than what I listed here, although I have not finished a lot of what I read).

BESIDES the above, you guys can also watch chinese videos on say bilibili.

Examples would be:
席亚洲 and his 观棋有语 and 胡诌施佬 with his 察话会, both of these are military podcasts (if on bilibili, you can read the screen comments, or comments below video as well).
Others I would recommend would be 范勇鹏 and 逸语道破(on 观察者网, a good news outlet) for more political commentary (the later especially more on US), and for more 'informal' there's like 波士顿圆脸

Since the trend for RMB is appreciation, the effective growth rate probably will be 6-8% next year, depending on how much the RMB appreciates. By the same token, Chinese economy probably will grow more than 5% a year effectively on average for the next decade.

Without China's cooperation, the effects of sanctions against Russia won't be clear-cut:

It's such BS that "we hate your government only, not your people". Asian-Americans will be in big trouble if hostilities break out between China and the U.S.

Yep. It is actually exact opposite. Sanctions *do* target regular people. They aim to maximize pain to regular people so they would revolt. Basic regime change tool.

China must respect EU as "strong and united" entity - French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian

VILNIUS –China must start to respect the European Union as a united force, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said in Vilnius on Friday amid the EU's ongoing effort to persuade China not to support Russia in the latter's war against Ukraine, and also while Lithuania is under pressure from Beijing over its ties with Taiwan.

"China must learn to respect the EU as a united and strong entity," he told a joint press conference with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabriel Landsbergis. "If China does not respect the EU, (...) we have ways in which we can remind China of what we expect."

Earlier on Friday, EU leaders held a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and they warned that any attempt by Beijing to help Russia, which invaded Ukraine in February, would affect economic ties between the EU and China.

According to the French minister, China's economy is already suffering from the changed geopolitical situation in the world, and Beijing is now in a difficult position because it wants to appear as a defender of democratic values, while at the same time being close to Moscow as it is breaking international norms.

Moreover, the recent crises have strengthened the EU and it feels "its power towards both Russia and China", the French top diplomat said.

On his part, Landsbergis said the EU must maintain pressure on China as it is now facing one of the most important choices of the 21st century.

"Either you are on the side of the world order or you are on the side of the destroyers of the world," he said. "So far, China has given no sign that it is on the side of world order."

On the other hand, China is clearly afraid of EU sanctions, which is why it wants to give the impression that it does not support Russia, the Lithuanian minister said.

"Russia also tells us all sorts of things, but we don't necessarily have to believe them," Landsbergis said.

He compared Russia's military pressure on Ukraine and China's economic pressure on Lithuania as curbing "the sovereignty of states in a certain sense".

"These are different chapters of the same textbook", the Lithuanian foreign minister said. "The EU has a very clear principle that the sovereignty of states must be defended, whether in Ukraine, Lithuania or elsewhere," he added.

China's anger towards Lithuania was triggered by Vilnius' decision last year to allow Taiwan to open a representative office in Lithuania under Taiwan's name. In response, Beijing restricted relations with Vilnius and blocked Lithuanian exports, leading to the EU decision to turn to the World Trade Organization in late January over China's trade practices.

I actually like to see how they will follow up. Wat is EU going to do to China without causing shit on themselves lol. Bad enough they are cucked puppets of US but to be so idiotic and arrogant...then again it's von Der Leyden, even many Europeans think she is a clown

I really really dislike erdogan but he knew how to speak in "their" language. He did not even offer a seat to her:

Please don't ban Confucius institute in the next 2~3 year im still learning Chinese..
There are many other ways to learn Chinese.
I, as a Chinese, is not very fond of the Confucian Institute. There is nothing Confucian about it. You don't really learn Real Chinese philosophy and history, nor does it give you any real insight about current Chinese academic achievements in the field of Chinese history, archeology, traditional Chinese philosophy and Classics.

They are only a some what adequate platform to get to know China in a very basic and superficial manner. In fact, you learn much more about China in this forum than what you could learn in the Confucian Institute.

Hopefully this wil lead to the end of diplomatic relations with the EU. It's not a real country so I don't see why China they need to be received as if they were one. Ambassadorial duties can be handled by any of ambassadors already appointed to China by each EU country.

No country within Europe would dare come to China to lecture on human rights or attempt to threaten China to join their economic war against Russia. But saying it behind the banner of the EU they can absolve each individual state's responsibility and they just become a mouthpiece for US foreign policy.

In future, communication should be either country to country or between the EU and SCO.
