Include ASEAN in the QUAD?
Sorry, but Indonesia, literally the "Big Bro" of ASEAN, repeatedly stressed that they would not join any military alliance with any other country as per Indonesia's constitution.
Count Thailand, Laos and Cambodia out, all of them are in China's team.
Malaysia, despite being part of the FPDA and have maritime disputes in the SCS, would like to stay out of the US-China confrontation bullpen. They also criticized AUKUS.
Myanmar can be counted out as well.
That's more than half of ASEAN gone.

It seems he's throwing out ideas left right and center, hopefully some will stick, so the US State Dep, who are the puppet masters in Japan, will give him a second shot at being PM... ASEAN in quad, that's too funny.

I think that was a long term policy goal of America. Try to turn quad into a NATO of asia with as many ASEAN members as possible. I don't know if any government official has said that publically before.
It was unlikely to happen before the Ukraine conflict and now seems even more unlikely. Suga is just upset that global attention has shifted away from China for now.
It is not concession. Don't read too much about it. It is "you get what you pay for".
If Chinese companies don't want to be audited with standards of PCAOB, they can be delisted. I guess some will be, because they have sensitive data which China and CPC will protect. Chinese companies were listed not according to American standards, and well I guess the USA told them that's going to end.

Yeah, I mean, Chinese companies who list in the US, should follow US laws & regulations. Its not like these apply only for China, they apply for companies from all over the world.
