Germany's Economy & Climate Minister, Robert Habeck: "You are helping Germany, you are helping Ukraine, when you reduce your use of gas, or energy in general."

In 2020, Germany burnt 171 TWh of natural gas to produce 59 TWh of electricity. The total consumption of natural gas in Germany in 2020 was 871 TWh. Values in the table are in PJ (i.e. divide by 3.6). Six nuclear reactors produced 61 TWh in the same year.

Wow, looks like they are being serious. I don't know the details, but I think consumer use of natural gas and energy will be small. Most will be industry.

Germany (and the rest of Europe) is about to go back to the middle ages.

Yesterday you had a meeting between Katherine Tai (US trade representative) and Dan Tehan (Australian trade minister). This is the link to their press release: seems that 80% of their meeting was about targeting China's economic model from industrial subsidies, state-owned enterprises, joining forces at the WTO with like minded partners (G7) to target China. In the 19th century there was a huge agressive tendency to convert us to pious christians. These days they want to convert our economic model to neoliberalism (muh free market) among other things. Here is the link to the press release from the USTR (United State trade representative) about that meeting.

I am lost as to the rationale by the Singapore leaders to choose this timing to expose herself as being firmly rooting for the US side in the grand geopolitical struggle same. Sanctioning Russia, calling for US military presence in Asia, trying to pull US back into CTTP all while trying to leech off China for further economic growth.
The Indo-Pacific economic framework (IPEF) is not the CTTP. That is something the USTR and US departement of commerce are planning for the future to craft rules on a plethora of issues for the Asian region and to form the region to their liking on trade, supply chains, technology, infrastructure and more. Here is a good informational albeit a bit long read.

I don't really get what Singapore is doing here, they could have benefited from being neutral like all the other ASEAN states. The US so far didn't even dare to sanction them, what makes Singapore chose differently here?

Singapore is being pretty smart about it.

Look at it this way. What is the most defining feature of Singapore?

It's small. Very small.

So they can get away with a lot things. They can say what they want and really not suffer any repercussions, well, because, they are too small for anyone else to be bother otherwise.

They know, they can speak freely. Does not matter if anyone listens, but Singapore has that latitude in their diplomatic relations, and they take full advantage of it.

Also, their policy is trying to be friends with everybody, because they are too small. So they want a good relationship with China, and a harmonious relationship with the United States. Repeatedly, Singapore has point blank said to the United States publicly do not make people in ASEAN choose sides.

Of course, the United States will never listen to that. The United States demands everyone be on their side, if not publicly then privately.

However, the United States is still powerful enough, that the current world trading system was spearheaded by them, it would make sense for everybody to have some sort of relationship with the Americans.

Times are changing though.

All the others refused to go to the US, while this Singapore goes there. If he is smart he would go to China soon, even if that means going through quarantine in China.
