I think the invasion was carried out not so much to take advantage of the strength of Russia and China ties, but actually the weakness of Ukraine-China ties in some ways.

Even after the Maidan revolution, China-Ukraine ties were very strong. It was not until the election of Zelensky and the collapse of the Motor Sich deal did the distrust boil to the surface. If Zelensky were able to repair ties, and even worse, buy affordable Chinese weapons, Russia would have lost it's positioning. Imagine a MiG-29 upgrade with JF-17 BLK3 avionics, I'm not sure Russia would have air superiority.

This is made up. The west are trying to recreate the image of Abramovich. He's one of the most pro-Putin oligarchs outside Russia, yet he is a zionist just like Zelensky so the west don't want to harm him. The same as the fake story that he became a "peace envoy" between Zelensky and Putin.

If you think this isn't true watch how soon sanctions will be dropped from Abramovich and Chelsea. It makes no sense to do that with someone who's so closely linked to the Kremlin, and not the other oligarchs living in the west largely because they've self-exiled and fallen out with Putin.

Most internet or phone fraud in mainland China came from Taiwanese. Enough said.

Thomas L. Friedman, of NYT fame that I am still paying for, wrote recently that US/West can actually cancel China the way they are doing to Russia, if China does not comply.

BTW, FYI, "台巴子" was invented by Shanghainese.
How many Friedmans are there, and is the one you listen to know what he is talking about. I wonder if that's the same Friedman that gets interviewed by one of our talkback radio hosts to talk about geopolitics. The Friedman our talkback radio host interviews always has the US and friends having China in a loosing situation with her being blockaded from day1 upon the start of any hostilities.

In recent years, Chinese President Xi Jinping has set in motion policies aimed at creating a new Pax Sinica—an altered world order built by Beijing.
With a newly aggressive foreign policy, Xi has apparently come to see the U.S. as China’s chief strategic and economic adversary, and the U.S.-led global system as a constraint on Chinese power
He has taken steps to decrease his country’s reliance on (and thus vulnerabilities to) the U.S. and its allies, stressing a “self-sufficiency” campaign to ensure that China controls the production of items key to the economy by securing supply chains and replacing imports with homegrown alternatives, including microchips and jumbo jets.
His Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), ostensibly a development program to build infrastructure in needy nations, is in reality designed to promote Chinese political and business influence in emerging countries and bind them to China through trade, finance, and technology.
In Beijing’s eyes, the Ukraine crisis is likely proof positive that Xi’s course is the best for China’s future.
Protecting China from just this type of punitive action is a major motivation behind the “decoupling” policies. President Joe Biden probably reinforced Xi’s conviction in a conversation last week by warning the Chinese leader that his country would face consequences if it aided Vladimir Putin’s war effort.
Based and Xi-Jinping pilled. Proof that only Xi had the strategic vision to see the dangers of the West. Where was the rest of the top CPC leadership at the early 2000s and the internal resistance at early-mid 2010s? Sleeping at the wheel

Two different Friedmans. One for geopolitics is George Friedman, the founder of geopolitical strategic consulting company, STRATFOR. The other is one of the longest NYT columnist Thomas Friedman. This dude, has written a couple of books that sold fairly well, namely "The World Is Flat" and other neoliberal/American globalization books. Plus, he's married to a very rich woman.
