Xi, Wang Yi, and Yang are literally saints with suffering the punishment of having to deal with these 5-year olds in the White House

"U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE BLINKEN SAYS BIDEN WILL MAKE CLEAR TO XI THAT CHINA WILL BEAR RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY ACTIONS IT TAKES TO SUPPORT RUSSIA'S AGGRESSION"
China doesn’t have much of a choice in this case. It’s not going to reverse Sino-Russia relationship, which took years to build up, for some temporary improvement in US - China relations.

It can’t fully support Russia either.

Interesting from Uzbekistan

"Uzbekistan becomes the first Central Asian country to openly support the territorial integrity of Ukraine and condemn "military actions and agression"
I want to know what the deal is with Uzbekistan, it's always spreading its cheeks for the West. An obvious question suggests itself: Does there need to be an Uzbekistan? Perhaps the other Stans could divvy it up amongst themselves.

A strong China is not necessarily inimical to Western interests. China is actually a beneficiary of the rules based order before Trump swung a massive sledge hammer on it. They just had to adjust their strategies because Western powers don’t see the relationship as beneficial, even though it is.

China supplies the West with cheap labor and a large market. Both benefits are fast shrinking as China moves up the value chain. Furthermore, by investing in Africa and South America, China is providing a financial alternative to the West for nations of those continents. This threatens the control the West has had over those regions since the colonial days.

If I remember correctly, i think he was the analyst who said Russia wouldn't invade Ukraine just days before the actual invasion.

Please, Log in or Register to view URLs content!
Even a broken clock is right twice a day (so someone who does good analysis and the likes can sometimes be wrong as well), while he predicted that Russia wouldn't invade (he gave some reasons and his thoughts) ultimately it's all from his opinion/view (he was also sometimes part of the guancha livestreams in the opening days of the invasion).

Doesn't mean because of that, all his past and future videos and opinions should be thrown into the garbage. Also a lot of his analysis and the likes are done on something that has happened (and he also talks about relevant history), stuff where he tries to predict something is to my knowledge something done more rarely.

This is the sort of chest thumping bravado that would make Jai Hinds blush.

Zhao Lijian's press briefing gets lots of attention nowadays and this one really hit the points.

China's stance on Ukrainian issue is aboveboard, fair, objective and unimpeachable, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian at a press briefing in Beijing on Thursday.

Zhao made the remarks in response to a press query saying China's position on the Ukraine crisis is becoming increasingly uncomfortable. "China has repeatedly stated its position on the Ukrainian issue. To be honest, China's position is indeed different from that of a few other countries. China's position is aboveboard, fair, objective and beyond reproach. As for the 'uncomfortable' terms, the ones feeling 'uncomfortable' are actually those intending on dominating the world by applying the Cold War mindset, those pushing eastward expansion of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) for five rounds in defiance of other countries' pressing concerns, as well as those waging wars while accusing others as being belligerent," said Zhao.

"I heard that even cats, dogs and trees from Russia would be sanctioned. And I heard that Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake would also be banned. Tchaikovsky is a famous composer who has been dead for more than 100 years. What fault did he have? Swan Lake is a masterpiece of dance art in the world. What's wrong with Swan Lake?" said Zhao.

The West remains what it's always been: a retrograde cesspit of religious zealotry. Today the state religion of "liberal democracy" has replaced the old religion of Christianity but that's just a change of form, not substance. The so-called "Enlightenment" allowed the West to masquerade as a quasi-civilization and the Industrial Revolution allowed it to out-produce the rest of the world, but those advantages are disappearing by the day. Now that the beast is being starved of all its ill-gotten privileges, we're seeing it return to form - book-burnings, witch hunts, Inquisitions, etc.

I must say that social media has been a surprisingly effective accelerant to the fires consuming Western societies. I cannot imagine a more effective facilitator of thought-free mob politics.
