China needs to design a slow train specially for the nostalgic American market, complete with the must-have soothing "choo-choo" noise.

Actually, such things do exist generally, they are usually called "Heritage Railways/Locomotives".
If people are that nostalgic for 3 day cross country rail trips, I'm sure the rail operator will be happy to charge 5X the current price as a "Heritage Ride".

“I am proud and very happy for the two Tibetans who are competing in these Games,” said Chemi Lhamo, a Tibetan-Canadian activist who was arrested in October for disrupting the Winter Olympics’ torch lighting ceremony in Olympia, Greece.

But it is important for them to know the reality of what is happening inside Tibet, and Tibetans both living in Tibet and in exile must support each other,” Lhamo said.

The United States men's national team lost 2-0 to Canada in World Cup qualifying Sunday -- a performance U.S. coach Gregg Berhalter celebrated as "dominant" despite the defeat.

This isn't newsworthy in itself, but I think this is how many forumgoers view the US government's current attitude and self-view.

Pelosi recently announced 100 million devoted to combating "Chinese disinformation", so about the same as Spotify spends on Joe Rogan.

Turkey's rise in gas and oil import consumption is not much of a surprise, considering how inadequate their own reserve quantity are and how they wish to grow their manufacturing sectors. It's just with the debacle of Turkish Lira still unresolved, importing natural resources for Turkey is going to be much more expensive.

The same situation is with Germany. These two countries are identical in systems. both have identical population. so how Turkey exceed Germany consumption? either Turkish population too rich to consume or Turkish produce more than Germany.
infact EBRD gave most loans to Turkey in past couple of years. It just show German power in Europe.
