But doesn't my strong reaction to your laudable but flawed wish and hope for the future goes to prove exactly why it's unrealistic. You and I want a strong China yet we have a fundamental distinction and disagreement with respect to the subject of how to effectively employ propaganda that's palatable for the western masses.

As I have said, unless you can change the fundamental nature of human beings your hopes and wishes will remain just that wishes. Because there's always going to be people like myself and many others especially the one's who are wishing us harm will make that dream remain so.
I think we have different view of the world. This universe is so big, there are many planets out there, who knows maybe one day human will live in many of those planets. Even a moon of Jupiter like Europa, one day can be habitable (

). Hopefully, territory/human disputes on Earth one day will be gone.

Many other countries will not stagnate too, they keep improving (countries like UAE/Turkey/South Korea has started to begin their space development, not forgetting private space companies), so it is not only China. IMHO, we, as human, need to co-operate, share knowledge and learn to work together.

A small problem like this PR should not make China being too antagonistic or feels like a propaganda (example, when I read that letter which is said from Peng Shuai). That's why I suggested China need to improve its public relations and it will create a better image of China. If you read again my earliest post regarding this discussion, I only started to reply when manqiangrexue said soft power is not needed. China so far can grow this rich is because of co-operation with many other countries and relatively peaceful relationship with the west.

Peng was clearly heart broken and perhaps distraught knowing that she felt used. She's as human as you and I and we ought to recognize that when our hearts get torn to pieces we often act stupid and emotional. What she did by posting her private affair public on Weibo was an act of desperation, what happened afterwards through the usual exploitation that's anything related to China by the Pravda of the west was to be expected. It's unfortunate that the Chinese response was clumsy at best and very amateurish at worst. But all of these incidents and there will be more to come must be taken into serious consideration by the CPC propaganda dept. which we can hope to assume is what they're doing. Sooner or later, the CPC must handle these easy lemmings the way they handle other important issues and that's with straightforward manner and not equivocation. They ought to play offense rather than always playing on the defense whenever an incident like this occur and this is why China is always fighting an uphill battle in every issue from the pandemic, border issues etc. because they tend to let the enemies control the narrative.

China either plays the game set up by the western powers and deftly play the game well or simply shatter the rules of the game and set up it's own rules where the west play under Chinese rules. It can't play both because the response and the execution looks clumsy and incoherent as bleep.
While I do not disagree with what you and many of criticism here,. The more disgraceful and shameless acts are committed by the western actors that undermines and violates Peng's privacy, human rights and interest.

I don't know what planet you're living on bud, but China wouldn't be this antagonistic if we weren't torn to shreds that we have to literally spread out of the mainland to eke out a living since the country was torn to bits. And now that China is trying to make it's way into the world for it's own survival and place in the world you'd rather us sing kumbaya and let's bygones be bygones? Am sorry man, that kind of attitude will spell another Opium 3.0.

You can have your I have a dream scenario and hope that materializes but not in our lifetimes.

black people are enslaved and shot openly on the streets.

From my comment here: Chinese Economics Thread from Oct 18... damn that feels like a long time ago...

Today (well, a couple of days ago, but I was just able to sit down and have a think today)

See: Rittenhouse murders.

Well, this is from the nation that called murdering an aid worker and 7 children "just and righteous" so what can we expect?

That's why China needs to be strong (hard power matters) and work together with many other countries (soft power matters), and it will prevent another Opium 3.0. IMHO, Qing Dynasty lost the Opium war because Qing dynasty was too close minded and thought it had everything already so no need to improve. But was it Qing Dynasty fault? No. The one who started the war was British and also the one who started selling that opium, but just if at that time Qing Dynasty was strong and open minded to learn from others and improve their war machines, I think that war will be won by Qing Dynasty. China has learnt from that mistake, if you think they can repeat that Opium War again, then we will see who will win this time.

Exactly, this what we can expect from white supremacists logic, they can kill you, bomb you, destroy your country in the name of "self defence"
Only a threat of guaranteed MAD can deter these people
