The PR department is so bad that they should be investigated for corruption/treason. In my imaginary mind, they are recruiting/consulting bottom of the barrel ex-pats in China. Like people that have very low respect in official capacity in the west or maybe literal real life trolls.
Its not treason and most (I think) probably is not corruption.

It just that there are these old dinosaurs at the helm of the propaganda apparatus who think we are living in the '60s. Its time to clean house with these geriatrics and send them for retirement

We need young people at the helm. Young with sharp mind, educated, energised to tell the news. Stop with the robotic and 0 personality hosts. Reform the system and for gods sake, finally banish the word "propaganda" from official writings.

TLDR: Clean house at the incompetent media/propaganda system

China should not be doing business with the WTA anymore. If the Chinese government can’t put its foot down and kick out such an irrelevant sporting body, then expect more of this from others as they see it as a weakness to attack China.
Sanction the top WTA officials after banning the WTA. If the ATP runs its mouth, then kick them out too. These Western-run sports organisations are used as a political weapon. West did the same to Russia using IAAF, WADA and a bunch of others.
Banning wta from China altogether may showcase China hard power but it will hurt the Chinese tennis players and stunt their development. I dun believe it's a good move. We can get away with it with table tennis cuz the domestic standard is so high but Chinese tennis is not at a good stage. The domestic scene, and I have to be brutally honest here, is pathetic, not chinese football level bad but not that far. The less said about the Chinese mens tennis players the better, but even Chinese women's tennis standards have fallen since li na, and she is quite problematic player to the nation herself back in her heydays.

Banning wta altogether will cause issues with Chinese players playing in the wta, and they need that level of international competition. Not to mention most Chinese professional tennis do wish to play in WTA tournaments.

This is clearly a western puppet. Can we finally ban this racist, totally sport-related association?

Regarding Peng, whatever if her accusation is true or false, lock her up for aiding the enemy. This is clearly a western instigated propaganda attack. Maybe it was from her stupidity, but in the end, her idiotic actions have clearly led to this situation.

As for the accused former Vice Premier, investigate the facts, and if true, lock him up as well. No one is bigger than the country

I have said repearedly, for every western-dominated "international" institution, China should set up its own.And after the Olympics, all these foreign "sport" associations should be banned.

Along with these guys:

Peng was clearly heart broken and perhaps distraught knowing that she felt used. She's as human as you and I and we ought to recognize that when our hearts get torn to pieces we often act stupid and emotional. What she did by posting her private affair public on Weibo was an act of desperation, what happened afterwards through the usual exploitation that's anything related to China by the Pravda of the west was to be expected. It's unfortunate that the Chinese response was clumsy at best and very amateurish at worst. But all of these incidents and there will be more to come must be taken into serious consideration by the CPC propaganda dept. which we can hope to assume is what they're doing. Sooner or later, the CPC must handle these easy lemmings the way they handle other important issues and that's with straightforward manner and not equivocation. They ought to play offense rather than always playing on the defense whenever an incident like this occur and this is why China is always fighting an uphill battle in every issue from the pandemic, border issues etc. because they tend to let the enemies control the narrative.

China either plays the game set up by the western powers and deftly play the game well or simply shatter the rules of the game and set up it's own rules where the west play under Chinese rules. It can't play both because the response and the execution looks clumsy and incoherent as bleep.

Looking at the latest video of Peng at the restaurant, seems like she was coerced into eating Chinese fine dining and taking selfies with family and friends on just another weekend. A terrible violation of human rights.

Our hearts go out to Peng's digestive system.

What do you think they should have done?

While the reaction by China is clumsy, note that this shows how desperate the west is in halting China’s rise, by using a comparatively small issue and blow it up greatly. But note that the USA right now needs China to help them with regards to gas prices, yet they decide the boycott the Olympics in China (or at least push for such) at a time when they need China help.
In light of this, don’t you all think that China would be looking to take a few steps away to let the USA suffer, because lower gas prices is good for China while the opposite is what the USA wants to help with the USA in combatting inflation. Everytime the USA wants help, they beg China yet right now they want to piss China off as those they can get away with it for free. Hey come on, this whole talk about China soft power means nothing when China can basically put the economy of the USA into an even worse of a situation by doing nothing. If the USA want even a little bit of China’a help, they should stop this ‘I will cooperate when it’s good for me and confront you when it’s good for you’. As a result, let these let these so called loses in ‘soft power’ be a lesson and incentive for China to strike far harder blows in return by reducing the trading of resources to the USA along with making moves to greatly increase inflation in the USA via the whole cargo ship and gas crisis (I mean they cancelled pipeline projects along with increasing gas purchases from Russia of all places) so that the USA will either learn to stop kicking around with China or simply suffer the consequences. Remember that those so called elites in the USA are ultimately worth nothing even if they have billions of dollars while those that can grow and produce things are worth something, especially when the USA collapses in on itself.

They could have said no "allegations or report has being made to the relevant authorities" no laws were broken and the incident being reported is not only fake news but a product of a very fantasy concucted by a western publication. Which is sadly has been typical of western reporting. It's no wonder that the trust of western and especially American public to their media is at an all time low for producing nothing but click baits.
China takes it laws and the protection of all it's citizens regardless of social standing very very seriously and will assiduously investigate any wrong doings of any and all officials if found to be guilty according to the evidence not hearsay. This is China and not the west and we will take actions according to our own rules and regulations not to the timeline and expectations of the west.

There will be no further comments regarding the private matter between these individuals. The western media if it can help itself ought to respect their rights to privacy something that you (West) are so good at complaining about against China's so called lack of privacy. Unless of course this episode will be yet another sign of western hypocrisy and or rules based order that's designed to be followed by others but not by you.

Next question.

Well maybe I am naive, common prosperity will be just a dream then. I thought we are all just human who will work together and advance the world, if we need to compete then just compete healthily. No servants no masters.
Chinese are not at fault, this existential struggle has been imposed on us. Yes we are all humans but a certain subset believe in their own exceptionalism and want to impose themselves as global master's. This is eerily like the German fascists. Surrender to fascism is to accept slavery and destruction.

It would be allowing the world to descend into a dark age with no art, science or culture, until total collapse to climate change.

Imagine a car running over a pedestrian in suburbia, forever.

This thread will be discussing hard power vs soft power until we reach 2300 pages.

This is hilarious that is all due to consenting relationship between two adults--although the age difference is quite staggering--and now Chinese media doesn't know how to respond.

FYI, the average and majority of people in the West don't give a fuck about Peng. It's only our media--who have nothing better to do--and some rich snotty Tennis players fueling this story.
