The report of "US ask other oil consuming countries to release strategic reserves" are just media stunt to pretend that US is leading the world. It has no practical meanings.

When commodity price goes up, it hurts domestic economy activities, it is in the interest of every country to stablize their own market. There is no need for a world leader as US is trying to pretend to be.

China has been doing such things all the time, stratigic pork reserve, soybean etc. in the past years. China does not need anything in return from anyone, NOR need anyone to ask to do so.

The Biden administration has been doing such pretence lately, not only the oil price, but the climate issue as well, such as the "joint US-China declaration", China is just tagging along. Let's see, if the US want to make China looks bad, why bother to get the joint declaration? If the US want to do something about the global warming, just make its own target better and do it, China has made its own target open and clear, China did not make any new promises in the "join declaration", so what is the meaning of it? None.

Extra:
Another example is the empty face-saving act "boycotting not being invited to the winter olympic".

Something fishy is happening here. A $120 million deal is way too big for the WTA to throw away for "moral" purposes.

This is proof enough that someone is pulling strings behind all this. $120 million + the Chinese market is such a large amount of money that it would heavily support WTA and the development of the sport

Anyway, as I said, WTA should be banned. Them using a threat to somehow damage China shows that it is a hostile institution

Better to create a global south, BRI, SCO, ASEAN etc women/men tennis (and other sports) association
No one is joining Chinese rebel sports associations started because she doesn't want to be questioned over the 'disappearance' of a tennis star

Exactly it is a war of belief. Great PR for CN should be to convince more people that they are in competition against war criminals and slaughterers of children. So that when CN decide to use hard power, all those people will say: Yes Go ahead
If it matters what those foreigners say, then you don't have the hard power needed against the US. When nobody else's opinion matters, when nobody dares step out against you no matter what they believe, then your hard power is enough and from there, people will come to your side, not for any PR, moral values or soft power bullshit, but because they don't want to be on the losing side. People will believe that the US is a war criminal and child murderer when it becomes convenient for them to believe it; it is regardless of how you try to convince them or what the truth is. And it becomes convenient when China's hard power makes it apparent that the American side is the losing side. There is only hard power in global politics; soft power is for anime conventions.

I mean just who the flying beep does WTA and that person think they are to be demanding these type of investigation and or else attitude against China. And I for one thinks that a lot of these sports shit are angling for the anti-China bandwagon because it's what's fashionable in a lot of these western Anglo countries. And this fella is angling for a bigger political profile burnishing his/her own bonafides for a bigger and grandiose ambitions, so all this posturing is a side show that has a lot of upsides for this person. If WTA is somehow canceled in China he will be lauded as some kind of hero - a person who stood up to the big bad godless genocidal commies. He will be hoisted and lauded in western media for showing the world how to stand up to China hoping and thereby pressing other sports organizations to follow suit. And the irony in all of these personal drama between these 2 dumb ass Chinese people is that if othe sports organizations and leaders would not follow such precedent they will be lumped as nothing but commie sympathizers and or being all about the money. They will be facing enormous pressures from their cancel culture people or risk being canceled outright.

Irony and hypocrisy are 2 key traits that a lot of western folks are really great at and are seemingly proud of these traits. Human Rights Champions but sees no problem bombing and killing people to kingdom come. Sanctioning people to death including women and children but throws a fit whenever a prominent INDIVIDUAL in any country it doesn't not like is being seen as being oppressed or "abused" these same lemmings would howl like hyenas. It's maddening and mind numbingly arrogant.

You got it wrong .The US gets away with invasions because of it's soft power ."Look we are invading to spread democracy and freedom "
which is bull but it works .
US has tremendous soft power. Right or wrong people also trust the “integrity” of their journalism. When you control the media, you control the hearts and minds of people. It gives US tremendous freedom to do what it wants with minimum repercussions.
