The only difference between China and the US when it comes to corruption is Americans think they can legalize what's called corruption anywhere else. The Republicans are changing laws so that every American that has the right to vote making it harder to do so in many states. That goes against democratic principles meaning the US is by the definition of the word is not a democracy but those that would criticize such things don't go around the world saying the US isn't democratic. They still want the US to be able to hide behind the democratic moral high ground to tell other countries what to do. Would the US like China dictating to Americans what democracy is? That's what they're doing to the world right now and all because they made their corruption legal part of the law.

How did I make it only Chinese companies? Here, I am concerned with Chinese companies. If Western companies want to carry on with their corruption, we should be happy.

Live in the real world and not on the make believe dust fairies fantasy sh..t that has bewitched and befallen western countries best exemplified by the Brits in the 18th to early 20th century picked up and amped up to the umpteenth degree by the U.S. Unless there's a formula to modify or even change the fundamentals of human nature then whatever it's your wishing will remain so.

My own experience from visiting and staying in 4 African countries for quite some time

Nothing strange with this. Also visited EE countries and stayed for a month and I experienced some of the same things there, especially for healthcare , and for getting permits (happened to 2 locals there)

I have no time to watch the video. So, tell me. How was he going to reward the officials. By taking bribes or what?

Only when society has reached a certain level of development can we begin to tackle corruption. People like Ji Xiaolan may sound righteous, but they rarely get anything useful done.

What level are you talking about? Brazil? Argentina? There is no level. Talk to the Indonesians and Filipinos.

It does not surprise me what kind of people talk about corruption as a necessary tool. Just be careful where you try it. A few Chinese nationals who tried to bribe Singapore police with a few hundred dollars ended up in jail. But the women were luckier. Since you don't wear skirt...

The real world does not condone corruption, except by the corrupt. In the real world, the ordinary Joes do not condone corruption as it makes him poorer.

They were talking about corruption in the Third World. We know what happened to countries like the Philippines, Indonesia, Brazil, Argentina and probably many others. The US is still and rich country and their poverty line is still comfortable by Third World standards.

Chinese SOEs still won tenders cleanly to build bridges and tunnels in Singapore and the Scandinavian countries, and hydro plants elsewhere. If there had to be under-table dealings, the project cost would skyrocket. You know who pays for it. Not the Chinese firms.

So you are talking about small bribes. Not about a $50m dollar public project.

Yes because obviously I am bot a CEO of a big company or whatever. However, the bigger your business, the bigger the bribe. I would suggest you to make similar visits to better gasp the ground realities in these countries

The corruption is getting perfected there. Depending on your income, you pay more for bribes. You have small business, small bribes. Big business, big bribes.

IMO as long a country is a "developing country" it is bound to have such corruption issues. Look no further than China, where until Xi started his anti-corruption campaign, China was full of similar issues about bribes
