Seemed like there was a lot of debate back in 2018. Sticking your fingers in your ears, closing your eyes and yelling "LALALALALALAAL! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!" won't make it go away.
Nobody said anything about making anything go away, I said those guys are French so there's no debate. It's ignorant people and racists just talking because they have nothing better to do.

So basically just like Tiktok except China worked out a deal whereas the Western brands could not.

The US and EU wanted Chinese EV technology too. Some even appealed to China saying that it's fair after they transferred ICE car tech to China to access our market. They were rejected, so they now weigh whether to ban. They'd jump at the chance if China said we'd open joint venture manufacturing with tech transfer in their countries.

No, China needs to do what we've always been doing, which is robbing them blind. If we ban, we ban; if we come up with a different solution, we do that, but the decision is made by those in the CCP who understand more than you will ever. They make decisions, you bark like a backseat-driving mutt.

US will not jump even if China offered full tech transfer and said let me sell cars under my own brand. Cause they see any car owned by China as a threat.

China needs to realize there is no hope of US giving China any kind of access. Its time reduce the imbalance of access by banning US cars like Tesla and others. They no longer serve any purpose except letting US think it can hit China without any blowback.

Just like the RE ban, they need to take a firm step and stop being timid.

US is the only country on earth that cannot pay in a currency other than USD, their market is literally the only one that has no real long term value.

So what do you call it when China forces all Western brands to couple with and share IP with a Chinese company to enter China while they have no reciprocal rules for us? What do you call it when Google, Facebook, Yahoo have all been banned in China while Chinese social media operates in the West? Western timidity?
The "China forces all Western brands to share IP" is complete falsehood. Fundamentally, for example, do you really think that the West loved China so much that they gave more IP to China in automotive industry than say, Mexico or Brazil? Do you really think VW gave all their cutting edge IP to China so China could build 2nd generation (1981-1984) Passats until 2018? In fact, one of the biggest obstacles to Chinese transmission development was foreign IP, not actual manufacturing and design.

US and EU both literally asked for it. The EU is serious though Trump changes his mind every 15 minutes but there is no denying that they both asked.

Nor do I think we should want any. They should live with the outdated shit they make but I'll leave that to the CCP to call.

Really, not for backseat barkers like you to decide, especially when you don't even know the difference between timidity and strategy. It's for the people in the CCP who have guided to China from a country that couldn't make a motorcycle to a country that makes the world's best computers and cars.

If it was a total falsehood, we wouldn't have asked them for joint ventures. Did we get everything from them? No, but we got what we needed to boost us past the fast and dirty phase and onto the innovation competiton phase.

Oh, and I naively thought that most Tesla cars are made in China :)

“It’s like feudalism,” a Commission official working on a lower level of the Berlaymont, granted anonymity to speak freely, told POLITICO on Friday, referring to the fact that upper floors housing commissioners got to keep their AC on. A second official agreed it was a “disgrace.”
A third staffer working on the 8th floor told POLITICO on Friday that even with working AC, the temperature inside was still 25.7 degrees.
Europeans deducing feudalism from first principles.

But in their defence, the feudal lords are also suffering from having to endure 25.7 degs temp, which might be cool for peasants but everyone knows the elites are more sensitive.

Today it was 37 degrees. and now at midnight it's still 27... And on Sunday the forecast is 41 degrees... not much, right?
