The logic is: if Jacob can defeat god, and if we are children of Jacob, then we can also defeat god.

Some notable examples:
• drawing a wire (eruv) around Manhattan to bypass Sabbath restrictions outside your house (eruv is supposed to be the fence around your house).
• forbidden to kill a specific criminal, so they tied him to a tree until he died of starvation.
• forbidden to carry keys on Sabbath, but if you wear a belt, you can hang the keys on the belt.

I have a suggestion for these individuals: castrate yourselves, that way you will never have to face your deity for your sins since your deity cannot bear to be in the presence of castrati (according to the rules of your holy book). This also has the added benefit of preventing proliferation of your adherents since you will not be introducing them into a world of sin and torment to be judged unworthy and cast into a lake of fire.

The expected price tag to rebuild Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge – which collapsed in March 2024, leaving six people dead – has more than doubled and is expected to be completed later than what authorities previously said, according to a release on Monday.

The updated cost estimate is now projected to be $4.3 billion to $5.2 billion, with an expected opening in late 2030 – a two-year delay from the earlier estimate, the Maryland Transportation Authority said.

That price tag is more than double the previous expected cost of $1.7 billion to $1.9 billion that the Maryland Department of Transportation previously confirmed to CNN.

Shocker: there is no proper concept of facing a deity in this religion. In other words, no real accountability. That should help explain their behavior.

No, why would we want that? It gives Japan the easiest out; where they throw Takaichi under the bus and get away with normal relations without too much pain. It's much better to stretch out the humiliation conga as long as possible so that Japan can suffer properly. Luckily, people like Takaichi tend to be narcissists so she's probably going to avoid self sacrifice as much as possible. I figure that we're going to get 6-9 months of fun out of this one.

She won't say it in public, not because of any Japanese pride or anything like that, it's because she's seems to act like a crazy ex with a princess complex who does things without thinking, without any accountability, and will blame you when things go wrong.

These people always talk tough and then you have the you go girl altitude at the start. Look at the west, they have a new leader in each country every 6-12 months these days like some revolving door. They all act tough at the start.

Then the novelty wears off and then you are stuck with a huge weight that you find yourself unable to move from. I remember Lai from Taiwan talking tough and now it feels like he only shows up to say anti China stuff to meet his quota. Would rather be focusing how to play politics and screw over his own local rival instead.
