大公时评/伟大的企业家都是铮铮爱国者

Takungpao released another editorial attacking the Hutchison ports deal, basically listed all the patriotic entrepreneurs and rightfully called Li Ka-shing a traitor.

In addition to the previous editorial and talk by Ding Xuexiang, it is obvious Beijing is pissed at Li Ka-shing now. Great time to clear out his monopolies. This is like at least the second time Li Ka-shing stiffed Xi Jinping's signature project, I'm sure President Xi remembers what Li Ka-shing did back in Fujian.
I mean if they only sold ports in Panama and maybe in Europe, there wouldn't be any repercussions I guess. But they also sold ports in Asia and Middle East.

Did not expect Reddit to suddenly become so red-pilled. Also didn't expect their hate of India to be as intense as Twitter.

Even in imaginary maps westoids can't help themselves but include an imaginary genocide of some sort.

There is a reason why reddit is also known as "Stormfront" in some circles.

It is full of warped and frustrated young men who are being impacted by the present financial situation.

Xi Jinping snubs EU-China anniversary summit

China’s President Xi Jinping has declined an initial invitation to visit Brussels for a summit to mark the 50th anniversary of ties, as the EU questions the sincerity of recent Chinese overtures.

Beijing told EU officials that China’s second-ranked leader Premier Li Qiang would meet the presidents of the European Council and Commission in Brussels for the summit rather than Xi, two people familiar with the matter said.

The hosting of EU-China summits traditionally alternates between Brussels and Beijing. The premier usually attends the summit in Brussels, and Xi hosts it in Beijing, but the EU believes the importance of this meeting — to commemorate half a century of diplomatic relations — means that China’s president should attend, the people said.

Both sides said talks continued, but the initial snub has confirmed the view among many in Brussels that China will not add concrete action to its warm words about the need to co-operate in the face of US President Donald Trump’s assault on the multilateral world order.

This year’s summit comes at a particularly sensitive time for EU-China relations.

Tensions between Brussels and Beijing have grown since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, with the EU accusing China of backing the Kremlin. The bloc has also imposed tariffs on Chinese electric vehicle imports, claiming they are subsidised.

EU officials say China, which last year had a €304.5bn trade surplus with the bloc, is not doing enough to rebalance trade by reducing subsidies for its industries and lowering trade barriers for foreign companies doing business in the world’s second-largest economy.

“The relationship is on ice,” said a senior EU diplomat. “It is a change of tone not substance. Their policy is not going to change and the same is true for us.”

The usual suspects trying to overthrow Serbian government again, I'm a little worried. Can any Serbian fill in on how the situation is going?

Yeah, this is getting serious, I don't remember protests this big in decades. I pray nothing happens and they die down soon.

I just cope by thinking that at least the West is pretty divided and weaker, and not all of them want to overthrow Vucic. Comparing it to Milosevic time.

Also, Vucic constantly invested in security forces through a much stronger budget, so they are decently loyal I think. This is also different from that time.

The regime is also not using more force on them to not galvanize them further, which I don't know is good or bad.

Moreover, this is tied to what's also recently happening in the Serb Republic, I can't help but this is a coordinated attack on us.

The thing is that a majority of these protesters are actually ultra-Serbian nationalists and they actually call Vucic a "traitor".

But they are just useful tools for the West. Basically they are too dumb to realise that what Vucic has been doing is the best we can get a nation in this position.

Other "concerns" these protesters have are standard low IQ nonsense like muh CoRruPtIoN and DiCtAtOr bla bla.

Also, it took around 5 times more people to overthrow Milosevic, and they were much more violent and sudden in nature, whereas the current ones are led by moderately disruptive students for months.

I’m not aware of what the protestors actually want but I am fairly sure that the EU actually supports Vucic, which is why the protests are not covered

No, the EU largely hates Vucic and they are paying for and helping organize these protests directly. They are also over-covering them.

Orban, Fico, and similar, as well as Trump's administration in the US, are the only ones that actually support Vucic in the West right now.

Tbh it's a small miracle how Serbia still stands

After the Ukraine war I quickly predicted that with Russia busy, the West would take care of Serbia. But for some reason, Serbia escaped that fate for many years but it seems not for long

As for Hungary, polls show that Orban will lose the upcoming election

Yeah, since the Ukraine war started they definitely increased efforts to do a regime change here.

As for how they didn't accomplish it, basically their regime change playbook is now widely spread and common knowledge anywhere, because they did it so many times globally.

I think they are not as potent as they were in the past, for example, the early 2000s - much easier to defeat.

Vucic even said that one day he will write a book on how to evade such color regime changes.

Also, I think Vucic balanced this well, only one in Europe that didn't participate in sanctions against Russia, and also supported Ukraine in some resolutions, avoiding pushing it "too far".

I hope Orban will have mechanisms to win the next elections by any means necessary, as he has been a tremendous crucial helper for us all these years as an inside participant in the EU.

Compiled by Ray Dalio. China outranks entire EU, in second place.
Denizens of the great Supapowar, Akhand Bharat will be very displeased with Ray Dalio's ranking. How dare he puts the Supapowar at 7th place? It should have been above China, at #2 place behind the top dog USA. Jai Hinds are gonna scream about the injustice.
